They also have a $75 dollar rebate for it. So, the board is free IF you can get your rebate.

SOYO Sucks sorry but it's true. Maybe their dragons are just ok but they put out some horrible junk and use the rebate system to dump goods and borrow money from you for 90-100 days.

There are persistent rumors they are going out of business. Better read up on it before sending them your $75!!!!!!!!!

SOYO. As trexpesto posted, they make you wait for three months after the postmark date of the rebate program. That can mean that it will be 5 or more months until you see a check...if they ever send you a check.

I made a mistake in my previous post. The rebate I'm waiting on is from March, not February, but it's still been a very long time. Their website says only to contact them if it's been over 16 weeks since the program postmark deadline, so I have about a week to wait before I get on their case.

How do you figure that? Rebates are fine as long as you send them in and keep good records. Saving $50 on a new hard drive is worth the time it takes to fill out a rebate form and letting them keep some of your money for a couple months.

If your rebate postmarked date is on or after the current processing postmarked date, please check your rebate status in a few weeks later. Please DO NOT contact us for status, this will only slow down our processing time, and we will not be able to response you regarding your status queries.

It all depends on the manufacturer. My KDS rebate for my 19inch came very timely (less than 3 weeks) but the $10 rebate on my Compusa branded CD-R's never came (and that was years ago).

That's my message too from that Mwave deal that I bought in March. The 4/16 postmark date is BS too as mine would have been postmarked at least a week earlier than that.

Anyone ever think that with obsolecence by the time you wait 5 months and fight them and track your records you end up even? "Wow I got my 160 gig HD for $70" in dec with an 80 or $90 rebate that only came in last month. (BTW if I didn't question them my status would still be "processing". Well now I can buy that similar drive at fry's right now for $70 without rebate. All I really got out of it was the 5 or 6 months of use and alot of hassle for the same price. If you really truly needed it back then maybe ok but how many of us jump early on a good deal when we don't even really need it? Just something to ponder.
