768MB and 1024MB versions listed
Newegg has jumped the gun with several GTX 460 listings, but sadly there is no pricing for any of the cards. However, there are still a few interesting details to report.

For example, MSI will offer an overclocked 768MB card under the Cyclone moniker. The N460GTX Cyclone 768D5/OC is clocked at 725MHz, or 50MHz over the reference clock. Sadly we still don’t know the memory clocks.

Sparkle, Palit and Asus reference boards are also listed, but more interestingly the listings include two 1GB cards from MSI and Palit. Both feature a 256-bit wide bus and Palit’s NE5X460SF1102 is clocked at 725MHz.

According to our info, most 1GB boards will be reference clocked, but bear in mind that they feature a 256-bit bus which should go a long way towards improving performance. They are expected to cost some €30/$30 more than 768MB boards.

If the price is right I might just go for the 768MB version to replace my 8800GT.

If the 256 bit 1 gig version overclocks well and is =< $230, Nvidia might finally have their first all around desirable DX11 card on their hands. We'll see.

Tech Report on the GTX 460: http://techreport.com/discussions.x/19211

"Those e-tailers charge as little as €193.84 for the card"

Which is like US$240.

If you compare the prices of hardware in Europe to the States, you'd see that exchange rates aren't really applicable. If anything, our (USA) prices are often lower than the number amount on the Euro price (i.e. in the US the card may be less than $193.84).

*edit*

But European prices are higher than U.S. prices. So much so that typically however many number of euros it is often equals the same number of dollars, or maybe just $10 more.

Weird your post didn't show up till I hit reply, beat me to it

Also, the site that had the 460 for 200 euro also had the 470 for 300 euro. $200 is looking possible -- now the question is, do you get more power than half of a real Fermi? Half of a 5870 is the 5770, so something competing with e.g. the 4890 won't be wildly impressive with a $200 pricetag. Then again, with no real ATI competition in the performance midrange segment it may be a hit.

Nice to see 256bit making a comeback.
comeback from what? this is the GTX series of cards so a 256bit bus is actually LOWER then the last gen. not to mention Nvidia cant even get the memory speeds up there to make up for the smaller bus.

Is this card really any better than a 260 for about the same price? DX11 isn't an issue since the card is too slow to utilize it.

When does the NDA on this thing expire? Tonight at midnight? It seems like we are very close...

video card speed has really started to stagnate imo.... i dont know, maybe it hasnt but it seems like the last couple years have brought roughly the same performance. its sort of a blessing though, because there will be a good 3-5 years worth of games now that will all run on say a gtx260 just fine....

Don't these new Nvidia cards actually have less memory bandwidth than HD4850?

Its going to be interesting to see how these stack up against the GTX465/HD5830/HD5770, and maybe the GTX470/HD5850.

I just dont see how a full fledged GF104 (rumoured to be used for the GTX475 SKU) can take on a GTX470.

Wait, Nvidia is coming out the gate with their mainstream die, and most of the listings we are seeing now are actually cut-down parts?

Obviously we will be able to tell more at launch, but this is looking like another nV fail, Charlie was right, etc.

seems a bit much to pay when you can get a GTX 465 and unlock it into a 470.

well, prices haven't been released yet but people are guessing on msrp.

I'm hoping that Tigerdirect has a sale on an EVGA version. Bing cashback is still good till the end of the month and they are offering 13.2% right now.

Yeah, the launch cut-down G92 (8800GT) was a massive failure.
