Looks like newegg has these sold as a pair for the price that a single speaker should be.

They clearly state in the title it's for a pair, the picture is of a pair, and the description states it's a pair.

The real rosewood versions are only $425 + $20 shipping.

Normal pricing at theaudioinsider (These links have frequency response graphs etc)
5.2 BC $729/pair
5.2 Rosewood $999/pair

The rest of newegg's lineup seems to agree with theaudioinsider prices but a little lower.

4.1
newgg single: $239
theaudioinsider pair: $499

2.1
newegg pair: $299
theaudioinsider pair: $299

5.2
newegg PAIR: $339
theaudioinsider pair: $729

6.1
newegg single: $389
theaudioinsider pair: $899

I think something got mixed up where that should be a single speaker for the 5.2, but they have pair listed twice so who knows?

Swan is a popular choice over at AVSforum at the normal theaudioinsider prices. This 5.2 pair deal is like 55% off of that. If it's really for a pair, very good deal.

Oh, and they also show up if you search for speaker pairs on newegg's site. If they sent you a single speaker you'd have a pretty clear case that they have it advertised as a pair.

Also be aware that these speakers are pretty large at 48" tall and 68 pounds each.
The shipping deal on these are incredible too.

My own Rocket RS550s are only 35" tall and 55 pounds each.

Reference size pics of my 35" tall speaker on its 7" stand for 42" tall
front
vs chair, computer

Good luck man.

What are you powering this with? Going to pair them up with a sub?

Nothing, yet. Probably going to borrow the rents' 5.1 receiver until Christmas or so when I can get something decent.

As for a sub, I'll probably get one eventually, once I can earn some $$.

Probably just fine.

Sensitivity (2.83V, 1m) 90.5dB

They don't need much power to get quite loud with a nice efficiency like that.

I hope you didn't go into debt over this

EDIT: on second thought, get this so I can stop looking at it every day to see if someone bought it yet.

No, but I was planning on ordering an x2 3800+ in the next couple days that might have to wait.

Maybe.

Mine shipped out today.

Does it say two packages or anything?

No, but it still says PAIR everywhere, including my order status page. If they only send one, they're in trouble.

My invoice shows one shipped too, I predict they will want this back, no way they will send out another for free. Oh well, at least the kids will be happy, they get to eat this month after all.
