Too bad there aren't anymore deals on this monitor...Shopko for $800 and J&R for ~$900 have been the best I've seen.

This Newegg deal isn't bad, but $1,100 + 8.25% tax + $100 shipping doesn't make it that great for me.

yeah i definately hear ya. i got mine for $1379 shipped with a 3 yr warranty....which is a little more then what i wanted to pay. however i have been trying to find one for the past 2 weeks or so and couldnt. been hearing rumors that it was discontinued, etc so i figured the hot deal days of $800/900 were long gone and got one before they sold out again.

Yeah, the resolution is perfect for me as I don't want to have to upgrade my video card again to play the latest games. A 37" lcd would be pretty tight looking I think. But I look at this and then see the 42" Sceptre at Costco for $1299 which is tempting as well. I then saw that Dell came out with a 27" lcd the other day and Samsung is coming out with one as well. While those are tempting, the Dell is currently $1400 which isn't worth it seeing as it's more than the older version of their 30" monitor and the other larger 1080p lcds.

Ah...decisions decisions. I wish when I'd seen those J&R and Crutchfield deals I wasn't so hesitant. I remember seeing Crutchfield in stock for $900-1000 after shipping/tax. Sigh!

Someone on HardOCP posted saying they had 20 when he called around 7PM EST. Take that with a grain of salt. I personally ordered around 5:45PST and have no idea if the instock counter can be trusted especially on a holiday. But, I'm hoping not too many took the leap. I've been drooling over this for too long to miss out again.

Odd site, Conns. I wanted to check s/h, so I entered appropriate dummy info [but right town/ZIP]. Site came back with s/h of $54, AND taxes of $87 [I'm -not- in TX of LA!] and said someone would be contacting me for payment details.

Well, of course they WON'T be contacting me, but they don't collect CC info online and use a call-back for payment! Maybe they would've dropped the sales tax... or could TX tax out-of-state sales?!?! Only places I've seen use call-backs have been those NY (usually) price-scam places that offer cameras too-cheap, but require add-ons to pump the sale price back up.

'Didn't see any ResellerRatings info on Conns -- not too surprising as they barely seem to be "online". Might be a great (but odd) place to shop....

Does anyone know how good Newegg's extended warranty is? Is an extendedd warranty reccomended for LCD panels?

I've been using this monitor in my bedroom for about 5 months now as a computer monitor, I also watch tv full screen before bed. I haven't had any ghosting problems. When I use it as a monitor I usually run a full 1280x1024 windowed game + PIP tv in the corner + a browser window open and it all fits nicely on the screen.

As a tv this works well for the digital channels or channels at 480p+ resolution. Standard 480i does not scale well and looks bad. The 720p and 1080i channels look fantastic. The TV picture quality is not better than a DLP or plasma.

People who are buying this as a monitor first will not be dissappointed. If your buying this as a TV first, you'll get what you pay for. A low cost 1080p flat screen with sub par SD capabilites and average HD performance when compared to DLP or other more expensive models.

As with all LCD's there's a problem with backlight leakage. There's no way to predict how much leakage a monitor will have, it's just luck of the draw. My monitor has some leakage on the right side. After initial adjustments and turning the brightness down, I dont notice it at all.

Dead pixels- I was unlucky I guess and received a model with 1 dead subpixel. A few months later I now have 3 dead subpixels. So far they are in spots along the edges and I don't notice them, but I'm keeping an eye on the issue.

No ATSC tuner, but, otherwise, quite a nice model for the price. Three HDCP enabled inputs is slick.

Do the component and VGA inputs accept 1080P?

It does, but not officially. There's a nice thread on AVS forums about this monitor. The component support wasn't talked about until recently so if you look through the last 15-20 pages, you'll find the info.

I can confirm 100% 1080p through VGA. I was running the 360 that way. Input display also confirms 1080p signal. Looks nice.

You got a tracking number? Lucky man you are. I'm way behind the curve, I haven't gotten mine yet. I was hoping to get the TV in tomorrow (thats a dream....but whatever) since I'm like an hour away from the warehouse. I assume I'll get the number tomorrow and the monitor by Thursday.
