has anyone bought from newegg? how are they on shipping/taking a bad hardware back/ Does the hardware they ship work ok or does it show up DOA?

si senor! I have been lucky enough that I have never had to send anything back to newegg, but the shipping is great, you cant beat the prices either.. and they have a very large inventory! Great company... so far Ive bought:

Yup, Newegg r0x0rz. I have only done 1 RMA (but didn't return it, long story, but getting an RMA was extremely easy).

As a second shot I'd give mwave a look. They ship far faster than newegg, and prices are almost identical after you factor in shipping (although with Newegg you get Fedex). With 2nd day at each place they are pretty much the same (excluding ram and processors). Great returns to this place too. Have never had a problem with them. I lub em.

Most of use buy from Newegg or Mwave. Just compare the two when looking for something. I use both and find prices on most items similar when you add in shipping. Newegg charges more for shipping but may take 1-2 days to ship. Mwave almost always ships same day if you order before mid-afternoon California time.

i purchased a mobo/cpu/video card from them a few monthes ago.. nothing but good things to say about them.. shipping is fantastic. they really pack that stuff really well..

havent had to ship back anything.. be aware, like many online retailers, if you have to ship something back, even if defective, you'll have to pay for shipping charges.. it's pretty common.. but some people are surprised by this when they do have to return something...

Newegg Rules, Great return policy (for damaged or dead items) Never had any trouble with them (I have recieved a Dead Refurb Mobo, but they took it back no questions asked, also once recieved a CPU with some bent pins, but it was a Retail box so it was probably bent whenever it was packaged (I bent the pins back and it works Great).

They are way better than the pricewatch vendors

Newegg does rule service wise but they have been raising prices if you guys haven't noticed. When they were first started as a company they had really good prices but now it's mediocore at best.

:disgust: Newegg shipping sucks! I just emailed them yesterday because I only needed a Volcano II Heatsink/fan, which is only $5.50. Second day Fedex shipping cost was $17.96! Granted standard delivery was "only" $10, which is still far more than actual shipping. I have a thing against companies that charge ridiculous shipping fees to make their prices look better. At least state that its a shipping & HANDLING charge, and I'd feel a *little* better. Adding multiple items helps the overall shipping cost a little, but not as much as you'd expect. For great prices AND cheap shipping Compgeeks is my choice (although they ship much slower).

Other than that, Newegg rocks! A lot of times their prices outweigh their shipping, especially if you get a bunch of items. I have had one RMA with them, and it was a flawless transaction. I've ordered around $5,000 worth or parts from them without one problem yet. Shipping is fast, and one time I had a $900 order that they didn't get together in time to send Second Day Fedex as I had requested, so they sent it Overnight!

was this about how you returned a defective product, and wanted to get the new price on the replacement, while newegg considered it a pricematch and wouldnt lower the price? good to hear it got resolved.

Newegg or Mwave.
There prices are about the same..but Newegg usualy takes 1-2 days for "processing" where as Mwave sends out the same day or next AM (I actually got 1 order before they sent me the tracking number!)

I've ordered lots of parts from Newegg, and will continue to order from them. I've never recieved any defective parts from them, and they have always shipped my orders fast. 9 out of 10 orders that I chose "FedEx Express Saver" which is technically 3 day shipping, I had my order in 2 days.

I also order from Monarch and Googlegear, if Newegg is out of stock, doesn't carry an item, or has a higher price(rare). I've never dealt with Mwave, but I always hear good things about them. Provantage may join my list of favorite online stores(first time ordering from them), we'll see if my PSU gets here tomorrow like it should.

Hmmph... got another letter concerning my RMA saying the item is no longer in stock!. This is the second defective product I've gotten from them, but I can't blame them for something that was in it's retail packaging. However I recently ordered a refurbed mobo from them (Shuttle Ak31). The PS2 bus is dead on it, I luckily got it working with a USB keyboard. It's not worth the hassle to send it back.
