No offense, but for that kind of money, I'd be looking for a decent 4K display. Especially since you've been able to get "Korean monitor" 2560x1440 27" screens for $300 or less. (Heck, even Microcenter does or did carry one.)

I partially agree, but this monitor is not a cheap heaping pile of crap like those Korean 27" units...
The main reason I posted it is because I just happened to run into it and also just happened to see the news about it on the front page.
It's a $1250 professional monitor, so this is $500 off or a 40% discount. That rarely happens on a newly released top of the line product.

It's a good deal for people who need it, but the rest of us would be better off with $300 27" 1440p Korean monitor, or a 27" 4K Freesync LG 27UD68P monitor that goes on sale for $400 pretty regularly.

Exactly. For those of us that code, browse, run office apps and game... nobody cares. These ultra high end models are for people that like to sit amuse themselves color matching and endlessly telling their facebook friends how awesome they are.

I think its worse to charge 400-600 for all these monitors with backlight bleeding, colorshift, and blown out colors. It doesn't take OCD to appreciate high end monitors. I remember when 19" aperture grille CRTs cost this much.

I always like the vivid colors on Dell ultras until I bought a cheap Acer K272hul which seems to have
better colors then my 4 year old dell ultra.
Now if you need a large color gamut dell is the way to go.
