A Newfie and a Lawyer are on a 12 hour plane trip. Being bored the Lawyer looks to the Newfie and says
" Lets play a game."
The Newfie says " Ok, what kind of game are gon play "
The Lawyer says
" I'll ask you a question and if you get it wrong you give me 20 dollars, then you ask me a question and if I get it wrong I will give you a 1000 dollars . "
This peaks the Newfies interest and says " Sure!"
The Lawyer says " Ok, I will go first, what is the distance from the earth to the moon?"
The Newfie shurgs his shoulders and reaches into his pocket to hand over 20 dollars.
" Ok my turn " The Newfie exclaims " What goes up the hill with 3 legs and comes back with 4 "
This puzzled the Lawyer and the Newfie could tell, so being as generous as most Newfies are, he said
" Tell ya what, we still got a good 8 hours left to this ere flight, I'll go for a nap and you can wake me up when you figure out what it is. "
So the lawyers eyes light up realizing the opertunity at hand. As soon as the Newfie falls asleep he calls up all his Genius buddys all of his smartest friends and everybody that he could get a hold of but to no avail. Nobody knew the answer. So after a few hours of mental pondering the fact that he had all the connections in the world, yet still could not find an answer had brought him to finally wake the Newfie up and he said
" Here! " he handed over a 1000 dollars " Now tell me what goes up the hill with 3 legs and comes back down with 4?
The newfie smiled, shrugged his shoulders and handed back 20 dollars.
