Newly built raid 0/1 sytem does not restart leaving windows and is slow to boot up

Hello,

I setup a new computer yesterday and have noticed that it is slower that my other pc?s running at the same speed at start up. Once it is loaded to windows 2000 is very fast though. I have it set to raid 0/1. I have loaded the Via 4in1 drivers, video drivers and sound.

The system consists of:

Asus A7V266-E Motherboard
AMD 1.4 AYHJA coded processor
256 Crucial DDR PC2100 (CT3272Y265)
64 Meg GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GeForce 2 TITANIUM Ti/500XP
Thermaltake VOLCANO 7
Full Tower Case with (4) 152mm fans
3COM 905CX-TXM PCI 10/100 network card
2 IBM 40GB 7200RPM Hard Drives
Pioneer DVD 104s
Teac floppy

This system is not overclocked. For some reason it will not restart after closing windows, but it will shut down.
The system is very fast with the RAID setup, but when I loaded Sisoft Sandra it keeps getting error messages. Is this because
the system is processing to fast to access files from across my LAN ?? I actually had to load my video drivers twice for
windows 2000 to recognize the card. I'm not to sure if I like my setup with the system not being able to restart and slow on boot up.
I know that after windows is loaded it is fast, but it seems to be sluggish.

well which one is it... Raid 0 (striping), Raid 1 (mirroring) or Raid 0 + 1 (striping + mirroring) ??? If you only have a 2 drives, its impossible to have it on Raid 0 + 1... Raid 1 would give no performance benefit at all, Raid 0 is probably what you have.

what exactly do you mean? are you trying to run sisoft off of another computer over the LAN??
