I'm confused. If AMD jumps the FSB up to 166DDR on their CPU's it will give them a performance increase clock for clock over the 133DDR FSB parts. How can that not matter? In any case, I think that AMD has shown their ability to do more with less. Their CPU's have less memory bandwidth (than the RAMBUS P4 systems), a slower FSB and less cache and they still manage to beat P4s that are higher clockspeeds. I think this should tell you the value of specs vs real world performance.
