Nice, hopefully they keep that height, I loved my 2560x1600 and 1600x1200 monitors.

21:9 1440p is nice but 3840x1600 sounds even better (except for gaming GPU budget!)

Hope it sticks around long enough for prices to come down like 21:9 1080 and 1440p have, you can get them for under $600 often and UW 1080 under $300.

21:9 is great for games and movies but not all that great for productivity. You get awesome horizontal real estate but a little too narrow in the vertical so the extra couple of lines with 1600 will be a great welcome.

I'd disagree with that. I can have 2 "fullscreen" applications up side by side 1440 UW. Not sure if 1080 UW isn't enough but 1440 UW works amazing for work productivity.

So this is a 1600p ultrawide variant. Just when we thought 1600 height was dead and buried, this beauty comes out. Its not going to stop. Ultrawide is going to rule the PLANET! In several years I will have the ideal monitor like I described in my prediction thread.
For people who miss 2560x1600, they should love this new LG. It has their old favorite resolution with extra real estate and pixels on the sides. Also, 38" diagonal. How did I predict that would happen? A single day after I predicted 34-38" will take over the world, a new 38" is announced. I am the architect of my own experience. I create the world as it creates me. I am bogg.

I've had a 30" 2560x1600 Dell for years now and simply love that res.

No G-sync support is deal breaker, though. Guess i'll have to wait for other manufacturer to come up with it.

Still getting used to the ultrawide 1440p Acer I invested in. Adoption was initially a bit shaky but I'm liking it a lot now. Admittedly, gaming support aside (not the monitor's fault) it is a great screen--though I probably shouldn't have paid what I did for it. Oh well.

This has been frustrating me as well, but I generally haven't seen GSync available on most of the "ideal" monitors, and it is very slow to come out when it actually does pop up. I'm tempted to just go without and hope AMD steps up their game or just suffer without GSync. I've made it this long I suppose...

For games that do not support 21:9 but only 16:9, what will this run them at? Letterboxing all 4 sides?

This is 24:10. I would hope it would run those games at 16:10 2560x1600, side letter boxes.

Well, I had a momentary lapse in sanity and ordered this bad boy on Friday from B&H Photo Video. Scheduled to take delivery on Thursday. I am not into shooters or driving games so I don't think the relatively slow performance of the monitor will both me that much. I do enjoy playing Witcher 3, and I am looking forward to seeing what it looks like at 38" of wide screen goodness. I will likely have to crank down the detail a bit for my 980ti to handle, but should still look fantastic. I am currently using no-name 27" 2560X1440 IPS monitor I picked up from MicroCenter. It has been a good monitor, but I was seduced by the wide screen dark side.

Mainly bought the LG for Lightroom and Photoshop work, plus some productivity apps such as Word and Excel. Hopefully I won't have to crank the scaling to 200%. I have noticed I am starting to squint more in my 50's...

More to come.
