Nexus 6 instead of 6P ?

While 6P is latest and greatest, 6 seems to be a pretty solid device at about half the price. I also like the fact that it has wireless charging - something I got used to with G4. Besides the obvious differences (fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, etc...) are there any downsides with Nexus 6 instead of 6P?

I actually like the G4 a lot. My reason for looking for a new phone is that I am using a Verizon specific G4 on TMobile and not getting LTE speeds. And I don't like the idea of buying TMo specific G4, while I could get something "different"/newer.

If you're happy with the G4, why not sell it and get a T-mo G4? The G4 is still a flagship device...Either way, keep in mind the N6 is last generation (even though it's still a decent device). At this point, you also might as well wait it out till the next round of flagships are released (spring - summer)

I'm a low-volume data user, but I want (don't need) a flagship phone...

Considering the Nexus 6P on Fi or Ting, or the LG V10 on Ting....

But, DANG, these 2 phones don't fit in most shirt or pants pockets... an issue for me.

Verizon G4 is only missing band 12 on T-mobile (it has band 2, 4, the other LTE bands that T-mobile uses)

if you are getting only 3G, and you don't get any sort of weak band 2/4 LTE signal at all, doubt band 12 will be deployed in your area?

z3c/z5c is your answer... probably z3c (cheaper + fewer issues than z5c)

My Nexus 6, which is larger than the 6P, fits in all of my pants and shorts pockets. Shirt pockets are about 50/50 however. I don't usually sit with a phone in my pocket though, not sure that would be too comfortable with either phone.

I have T-Mobile specific G3 and it gets much better speed and LTE compared to Verizon specific G4. The verizon G4 doesn't pick up LTE at all.
I finally bit the bullet and ordered the T-Mobile G4. I like the form factor, back buttons and wireless charging. Hopefully this will last me for a few more years.

How's the g4 vs g3 and even vs the g2 (my favorite was the g2 it was so far ahead of it's peers, g3 was meh but I never had it long enough to try another ROM, never had the g4). I'm currently using a tmobile note 4. It's good but I never use the stylus and it's rather larger with my case on it.

I liked G3 and would have kept it, except the bluetooth connection is EXTREMELY weak/bad. When using LG HBS750 and keeping the phone in front/back pocket, the audio would cut in and out. I found a few other people reporting this issue.
Other than that, G3 come with Kit Kat by default and is upgradeable to Lollipop 5.0.1 , which may not be as good as G4's 5.1.
