Could these errors be the problem?

Input/Output Range 03B0 - 03BB used by:
NVIDIA nForce3 250 AGP Host to PCI Bridge
Input/Output Range 03C0 - 03DF used by:
NVIDIA nForce3 250 AGP Host to PCI Bridge
Memory Range 000A0000 - 000BFFFF used by:

Are you running a second video card by any change?

I dunno why you're having issues, but i think it maybe has something to do with IRQ conflicts based on the errors you listed?

You've installed chipset drivers?

I'm not totaly sure but someone mentioned there's no Vista compatible nforce 4 drivers out so it's likely there's no Vista compatible nforce 3 drivers either.

Best bet is to check your motherboard maker or nvidia for Vista motherboard drivers.

EDIT: just a thought, does Vista support AGP?

Readme for Windows Vista Beta 1 and Windows Longhorn Server Beta 1

Display
This note applies only to Windows Vista, not Windows Longhorn Server.

The graphic device drivers included in Windows Vista Beta 1 do not support the ATI X700 AGP or X800XL AGP graphics devices. Because the PCI-Express versions of these graphics devices are supported, and the AGP versions have the same device ID, Windows Vista will attempt to install the PCI-Express version of the driver. This can result in a black display screen on computers with the X700 AGP or the X800XL AGP devices. To work around this problem, start your computer in VGA display mode and install the latest ATI Catalyst XDDM display driver.

Even nForce 2 is compatible with Vista. I checked and it works. Only those over at Inquirer are spreading these stupid rumors.

Have no doubt they will work but do they need specific Vista drivers for the motherboard and are they out yet?

from another forum somebody posted this reply from nvidia.

Welcome Back to NVIDIA Customer Care.

Garth, I understand the difficulties that you are currently facing. However, I would like to inform you that nforce3 is end of life product so we don't have any supported drivers for Windows Vista Operating System.

Regards,

NVIDIA Customer Care.

You posted the answer to your own question. Your card has a PCI-E GPU with an AGP bridge and Vista/ATI's driver installer thinks that it is the PCI-E version. That post said to set it to the standard VGA driver and manually install the ATI driver via Device Manager. I don't know why you are trying to go through Nvidia support as it's a video driver issue not a chipset one.

I got some bad news bubba looks like ATI + AMD X2 + NF3 isn't compatible right now. There's an issue with the nForce3 drivers. If you google "vista code 43" you'll easily be able to find details on what I'm talking about. This is ticking me off since I just bought and installed an X2 tonight now it looks like I may yank it since the winchester I pulled OC'd better.

BTW, if you disable 1 of your processors your vid card will work.... lol what a work around.

Screw THAT. i've used this stupid bug on their part as an excuse to upgrade. New 8800gts and my friend gave me his old asus pci express board!!!!

after visiting many sites and other discussions, nothing worked. If they ever fix it then i'll throw that equipment back in and make a MCE only box for the living room and make a new build for gaming with the 8800gts

Yep, and that's why I go home every night and toil over whether to just format and go back to XP or not. I've been running vista RTM for going on 2 months now and it's been nothing short of hassle the whole time. Bad drivers, 64 bit can't install a bunch of stuff, etc. So finally I bought a new X2 to help cope with some of the new features, and blam. Nvid doesn't seem to care too much about this issue either. They'll not be getting any more of my money unless it's fixed soon.

Shame for them cause I was thinking about a new nForce board and a DX10 card later this year. Looks like ATI will be getting my money.

Cry some more?
From the looks of your rig, they wont be missing much money from this loss.
