Here's my problem. I go into bios, and setup the cpu (crap settings, just to get it started) to run at 1.5ghz (150fsb x 10multi).
It reboots, tells me do not power off while it saves the bios. It finishes doing that, goes black for a second, then powers down.
It doesn't restart itself, and once powered down, it won't allow me to power it back on via the power button until I turn off the PSU, wait for the motherboard to get no power, turn the psu back on, then hit the power button again.
It then loads up, and gives me a "CPU is unworkable or has been changed. Please recheck CPU SoftMon." So I reenter bios, and the settings I put are still there. I then save and exit, even though I didn't have to change anything, and it goes back to the "Saving BIOS" red screen again. Then it powers down like before and again won't power up until I turn off the PSU.
It's a vicious cycle.
I tried updating the bios, as I got this CPU/MOBO combo off the forums and it came with some strange bios, so I downloaded the new ver26 bios for it. Cleared the cmos via the ,jumper. Reentered CPU fsb/multiplier settings, and it starts all over again.
Saving Bios. Turns off. I have to turn off the PSU. Turn PSU back on. Power on. CPU is unworkable error.
My ram tests fine, my videocard tests fine, etc. The cpu temp is only about 40c so that's fine. Everything appears fine, except either the CPU or the motherboard. If anyone has had this problem, or knows any kind of solution it would be much appreciated, as I dont know what else I can do.
It's a NF7-S 2.0. Mobile 2400 (45w). 2x256 Kingston HyperX. 430w Antec TruePower.
