My NF7-S has been eating PSUs left and right. My buddy also has the same "problem" with his. Is there any PSU brand or model that you guys recommend that can handle a troublesome motherboard without blowing?

Buy a new mobo? If you have gone through multiple PSUs I'm sure the cheapest option is a new mobo....

I have that motherboard. It's really old and the power supply, an Antec True Blue 350w, I bought at the same time as the motherboard is still working just fine. Even if it didn't, my power supply came with a three year warranty. It's lasted longer than that.

What kind of power supplies are you buying, and how long does their warranty last?

A relative has one that has been running since new with an Antec True 430. It started with a 1.8 GHz Palomino and has run for over a year with a 2.2 GHz mobile Barton. Have you used a decent psu, or just cheapos? I don't think a motherboard alone could kill a good psu. Something like this Fortron is cheap and has plenty of amperage.

[*]Buy a quality power supply (psu) with a 3-5 year warranty
[*]Since it's an AGP mobo you probably have midrange hardware inside, therefore any quality 300w-400w psu will be more than adequate

You're going to get a lot of recommendations so you may want to do your own research. However if you have plans on upgrading within the next year or two, and want to run high end gpu's, you may want to consider a more powerful psu since a psu upgrade is one of the last things people do.

First, I had a 550 watt TTGI powersupply, with 4 fans in it. Next, was a Tagan rebadge 450 watt, Jaguar was the model I think. Last was a Coolermaster Realpower 450 Watt.

I have this mobo in my secondary system. Hooked up to it is an Antec 400 watt PSU, same one which came with my 1040 case originally. It has been running for about five years now, three of them on the ABIT, and I never had any problems with it.

I'm not sure whether the PSUs you've named are quality ones but if you do try another PSU then pick one with a good track record. I've always used Antec but alternatively would probably consider a Corsair (Seasonic) or Enermax model.

I ran mine for a couple of years with an Antec 380 (Sonata stock PSU) before switching to an Enermax Noisetaker 375W. No problems with either one.

I have oneof these myself and I've built about 4 NF7 based systems for work. They all have Antec 350W psu's and have been running, without incident, for years.

Maybe you should look a bit further towards the outlet on the wall, and invest in a decent UPS if you haven't already.
