Don't forget that Rodgers was MVP just 2 years ago.
^^^ This. Back to back MVPs in '20 and '21. The Packers letting Davante Adams walk really hurt. Even more than most other sports, football is a team game. I don't care how talented your QB is, you need at least one "go to" receiver and an 'O' line.

Plus, recent history as a guide: "Tom Brady (Bucs) and Matthew Stafford (Rams) both won the Super Bowl in their first season with a new franchise and a luxury of weapons after a decade or more with one team."

Exactly!! The Jets qb was running for his life last year, and the Jets have done nothing so far to fix it.

Zach Wilson is brainless chicken.
Mike White is a one-hit wonder
Joe Flacco isn't that good.

If Rodgers meshes with Garrett Wilson, the Jets have enough to make the AFC a very difficult division. They played Buffalo real tough despite their lack of QB.

Maybe in terms of the back page of the Daily News and the Post lol.... I'll stick MY neck out and say that ultimately the NY Jokes don't win a thing after this "fine" player move.

Remember Brett Favre won some games here too and yet was a major bust in NY .... and my extreme dislike for Rodgers (obviously) goes far beyond the football field or his QB skills.

That fvcker killed people who were foolish enough to listen to him during the pandemic with his stupid lying mouth.

As a Packers fan, I'm cool with the trade. But you sound like a deranged, ex-wife. Lying about his vax status does not equate to killing people.

I don't know how good the Jets will be (10 or 11 wins, possibly) but if he has offensive weapons, Rodgers should have a bounce-back season or two. I suspect last season he "quit on the team" early, rather than instantly went from MVP to replacement level QB. But he's going to be super motivated to prove people wrong now. I'm not rooting for him anymore, nor do I wish him failure.

I definitely agree that Rodgers and the Jets could put up some good numbers on offense. He still has a lot of talent and the Jets have some pieces already. If they have a good next six months from the draft to free agency to coaching and the team gelling, they have solid potential.

I'm liking the moves Schoen is making on Blue so far too - the draft next week is gonna be huge. I think NYC will have two pretty good teams next year - more likely than not.

Now Aaron needs to miss just enough time to not kick in that clause to upgrade the pick to a #1 for this to be perfect

The key is going to be how well they can keep the old geezer in one piece.... he does still have a very strong and accurate arm.

I'd say the chances of GB losing out on that first-round pick due to injury are quite good.... despite all the optimism the Jets are at best the #3 team in the AFC East with an old/brittle QB at the helm. (#3 assumes beating NE out)

In my estimation the Giants have a more realistic chance at a championship next season then Gang-Green does.

Getting wrecked by Philly only shows the D isn't there for the blue team.

Jets quietly had a good D last season. 4th points against. Your "first love" Giants? 17th.

You're just scared that a real QB(tm) actually landed in New Jersey, which only can feature "winners" that are not categorically "elite" like Eli and Phil.

The side chick got a real man now, instead of a cardboard cutout of "made for TV counterfeit Eli".

Washington declines the fifth year option on Chase Young.

I remember some Giants fans were so pissed the Giants won the last game of Eli's career I think, so they got bumped down in the draft and lost out on the Chase Young sweepstakes.

Instead we drafted Andrew Thomas, a total stud left tackle now.

Funny how things work out.

I watched a bunch of Jets games last season.

Yes, they've improved quite a bit BUT they had nowhere to go but up and they are not "a quarterback away" from being a winning team.

Sorry Jets fans.... this trainwreck is going to make the Favre deal look like a bargain.

Depends on the definition of "winning" you are using....

Because with the 4th best defense in terms of points allowed while having the 29th best offense....they literally are a QB away from getting 9 wins since they had 7 last year.

Hey my crystal ball is out for cleaning and thus I certainly could be mistaken.

If you include "winning more than last season" I don't doubt they will do that which may result in making the playoffs, however this is the NY Jets we're talking about here.... get a grip.

The Jets running game is meh, their O-line is meh, their receivers are meh, the coaching staff is meh .... oh and they have Aaron Rodgers. But I'm wrong to not suddenly think they'll be a strong team in the AFC?

That defense better not back-slide at all.

Breece Hall was tearing up the joint until his ACL sprain. Garrett Wilson posted 1000+ yards as a rookie.

It's not like Rodgers needs even two 1000 yard receivers, just one.

They did beat Buffalo last year too...somehow. Even in the loss, they held the Bills to 20 points, and given how potent the Bills were in 2022, that's still an accomplishment.

I don't expect the Jets to compare to Mahomes or Lord Burrow...but they can certainly stir up the AFC East; definitely not Super Bowl contender. They should be the preseason choice for 2nd place, as Tua has shown some weakness when the middle of the field is taken away from him and his brain might become mush if he gets another concussion.

Favre failed in part because he had to learn a new language, in essence. Rodgers is getting the GB head coach's brother, Mike as the offensive coordinator. And "The Therapist"(Nathaniel Hackett) is onboard with the Jets as well.

It's simple enough, if they win 9 games, they are a "winning team." You'd expect a motivated Rodgers, if healthy, to be worth a few extra wins.

The Jets already fired Mike LaFleur, and Kaaron didn't like Matt much either. They brought on HACKett to entice Rodgers to come over.

"Winning" in Captante's post could have been interpreted as "winning the Super Bowl" or even beating Mahomes in Arrowhead in the championship game, neither of which I would expect as probable outcomes.

Or winning the AFC East.

Also lol @ "delicate-flower" Rodgers fan-boys.

I don't think anyone in the recent posts are fanboys...

Just the Aaron Rodgers crashing and burning in NYJ is not a foregone conclusion, especially when much of his regression last year was due to a busted thumb and not having Devante Adams.

I feel the Jets have a 30% of winning the division.

Aaron Rodgers may be a dbag but he is still a really good QB. The Jets did get a big upgrade. Of course all could go wrong but right now everything points to at least a winning season and being competitive in the division.

Yep ... they'll "compete" .... for 3rd place in the AFC East with NE.

And while I DO (as I stated) hate Rodgers because he's a disgusting excuse for a human-being, the reason I think he's not winning squat in NY is because he's a washed up old man who isn't Tom Brady, not because he's 6 feet of stacked dog-$hit. (which he is even if by some miracle the Jets do well in 23/24)
