Walmart Eli definitely has cleaned up his turnovers...but he's still likes to flirt with danger.

That PI-negated one was bad because it was so behind the receiver, it only could be caught by the NY receiver if Peters was interfering more.

All-in-all, Jones is drifting away from the bad into the mediocre QB club.

I just felt like quoting the most recent post of yours.

Anyways I think any quarterback analysis should take into account who he's throwing to. And trashing Jones is your kind of analysis.

Danielle Jones is throwing to a bunch of nobodies right now. This should factor in.

And yet I should remind you that Daniel Jones went to Duke.

That was one heck of a good football game.... the Bills look like the best team in the AFC and maybe the league on offense.

I don't really hate on any college team. Most of the big busts come from the top schools anyways.

I remember reading the scouting reports on Jones when he got drafted.

I think he has a really good shot of being a good QB in this league. We can see clearly for 2 years he had an absolutely horrific and terrible coach in judge. And he has had offensive lines that are between terrible and mediocre, and for the most part a JV receiver core.

Daboll is doing so much more with virtually the same roster. I'm not ready to anoint Daniel Jones just yet but I'm certainly more aware of the last 4 years and these last six games than the irrational Jones haters no matter what.

Actually I would say he's already done that "drift" and is solidly in "mediocre" territory right now ... problem is I believe this is as about far as he can go.

Thing is that "mediocre" actually MIGHT be enough to win even with "Walmart-Eli" (omfg lol!) IF the defense keeps improving every week the way it has.... they were impressive today!

I actually share that same long-term outlook, which is why I malevolently want the Giants to extend him, but you really go out of your way to highlight the bad. Jones does get accurate strikes in to help move the ball and get those precious points for the Giants, and with a hand that is suboptimal to say the least.

With quality of QB in the AFC, I don't thing mediocre is enough at all to win the big one.

I've never once questioned Jones arm-strength .... what I question is if he has what it takes to win against playoff teams with elite quarterbacks AND a strong pass-rush. (like we just saw in KC)

Daniel Jones is IMO a "middle of the pack" NFL quarterback who I would rank slightly below Kirk Cousins-level but above pure clowns like Baker Mayfield.

Even so as I said that MIGHT just be enough for the Giants to make the NFC playoffs for the first time in quite awhile!

I'm glad you two are not NFL analysts or anywhere in the Giants organization. Two people have been carrying this offense this year for the Giants - Barkley and Jones. The O-Line is better at run blocking than pass protection too. Jones has been running for his life in many games. And you analysts take nothing into account about who Jones is throwing to either. It's funny to watch because you are missing super basic things about how to evaluate a player in the NFL.

If Jones continues to play like he is playing, he will get an extension. That will be a good thing. The guy is a worker, has lots of guts, a good arm and pretty good wheels, and finally a real fucking coach. And if the team puts in a few more better pieces around him, there is very good potential there. Like any player, some might regress, so it is no sure thing, but the current situation says it's more likely to end up well.

Who are you arguing with?

You think Jones is a "great" NFL quarterback but you're worried about our assessment of NFL talent?

Lets just say I've been reading BOTH of your comments re the NFL for years now and when it comes to football I respect @Torn Mind 's opinion because it's panned out as accurate long-term MORE then once.

Anyway I'm done with the Giants game till next week .... going to watch the Eagles/Cowboys.

Please quote me where I ever used the word 'great'

Good luck.

You lack analysis because you are just full of emotion, which is 'JONES SUCKS NO MATTER WHAT' making up things, such as what I actually say, which makes your ability to make rational analysis quite terrible.

Again, I'm seeing a lot of good from Jones and nowhere near as unwilling as Captante as far as expressing a positive opinion for his performances in the particular recent games he has played in. Last week, I would grade him an A against the Packers, especially for the multiple 3rd and 10s he converted with accurate throws that gave his receivers a chance for the needed YAC to convert. He is also one tough cookie as well, so props for that. And yes, his receivers have let him down, including today.

But I've seen and followed Kirk Cousins(and the decision on whether to keep him or just let him walk), a little bit of Alex Smith, and I'm mindlessly watching Carson freaking Wentz now, so I've received a high dosage of mediocre QBs who just don't open up the potency of an O to its max. I still don't see Daniel Jones reaching an elite level or even very good level where I'm ready to expect sharpness from him week in, week out, and the ability to exploit all areas of the field.

Whereas, Kenny Pickett has already made me formulate an adjective that I haven't attributed to any other QB, which is perfectionist....

One small factor to consider is that the Giants have had some help with the yellow on the field in the recent games. Can't always count on the refs to have these bailouts. There will eventually be a game where that won't come even if deserved.

So Baltimore got a touchdown today that should have been a delay of game. I have not seen any Giants favor by the refs or flags in any game. If you can point them out please do. Baltimore earned their penalties today. It was a big part of the game but it was their fault. Penalties are called because they can affect the way the game goes for the most part, along with the occasional personal foul.

I've watched all the Giants games and they have earned their wins on the field. Every team benefits here and there from penalties, I have seen zero excessive instances where the Giants got luck from the refs.

And right after I was defending you too!
It's Pickett's ball placement that really stands out. Even short passes, he usually puts in a place where the runner can catch it and run afterwards. The quick sticks, slants, etc are all pinpoint accurate...but even when he throws longer passes, the passes still are rarely errant.

He also has already shown mastery of getting the ball off accurately when a defender hitting him is imminent.

I'll say thing same thing to you about Pickett that I did about Mack Jones.... he looks pretty good but it takes more than a few games in the NFL to tell.

He didn't exactly "light up the field" with his passing game today! (although like the Giants Pitt has nobody that can hang onto a pass regularly!)

I'll bet you were similarly reserved about Herbert.
He's much more striking that Mac. I don't give a damn about the Stillers(still salty about that 2008 MNF game vs Washington) or the Pats...but Pickett has reeled me in while Mac has not.

He got concussed, so there probably won't be a Pickett show next week.

Vegas-inspired flag pickup right there. Pollard blocked the dude in the back, not even close.
