in this case, Duke is not a top school. They are shit tier for football. ....but like you say that doesn't mean everything. Plenty of rando shit tier schools can produce elite pro athletes. But Duke also isn't that for football.
I don't really hate on any college team. Most of the big busts come from the top schools anyways.

I think he has a really good shot of being a good QB in this league. We can see clearly for 2 years he had an absolutely horrific and terrible coach in judge. And he has had offensive lines that are between terrible and mediocre, and for the most part a JV receiver core.
Daboll is doing so much more with virtually the same roster. I'm not ready to anoint Daniel Jones just yet but I'm certainly more aware of the last 4 years and these last six games than the irrational Jones haters no matter what.

I would imagine part of his performance this season is due to his personal life situation as well. I am NOT happy "Belichick tree-itis" has left the Giants.It really is all about the "football/baseball/whatever sport" people you have finding new talent. (ie: scouting) It's not simply a payroll-issue the Lions spend some money just not wisely.
Look at the Giants.... 5 years of MOSTLY terrible player-moves resulted in some truly awful teams but after finally cleaning house upstairs things are looking up and in a hurry. (especially on defense)
