He's still got time to learn elsewhere. I liked moxie at times. But he never was as good as Lord Burrow.


I give Danny credit in the short term.

Long term, I'll be satisfied if he stays on the Giants for a long time. A Tony Romo with wheels as his optimistic ceiling, how about that?

Yeah, MNF is a proper national game for all to see.

The others aren't because not all regions saw the Patriots game.


And it was more dramatic than I thought when making the prediction. I though Mac was out due to injury. But well, it seems Mac Jones literally lost his job on MNF.

Watching that game I was amazed to see the score, every play Fields looked to be running for his life yet they got over 30 on the board. I mean all those turn overs definately helped, I mean skipping two off the line, yikes.

I think Danny has a higher ceiling than Romo because of his wheels and because of his demeanor, which I read in his scouting reports and Daboll has been praising this year. The guy is unflappable, he just keeps working hard and does not let adversity get to him. He was probably just trying to put too much of the team on his back under really shitty coaches and on a team with little talent around him. Daboll has mentioned his demeanor multiple times this year as a big positive trait of Jones - it gives him the edge over Romo. If he continues to have good coaching and get an actual receiver corps, he has the potential to make a lot of people very wrong.

I'd rather have Danny Boy than Mac Jones any day of the week and twice on Sundays. He was seeing ghosts yesterday. Danny doesn't see ghosts, he is tougher mentally.

This is why you need to wait until AFTER the league "makes adjustments" before making any final calls about an NFL starting QB even being consistent nevermind anointing them with "legendary" status before they win anything at all.

Mac Jones will be lucky to even be playing as a backup in 2 more years the way he looked last night.

I still sincerely doubt Daniel Jones is the next "Eli Manning" but at least he's been improving steadily under Daboll especially in terms of composure not regressing.

Jones has been giving the Giants a chance to win EVERY WEEK....and keep in mind that even with NY's "creampuff" of a '22 schedule you have to beat the teams you play. Despite my continued skepticism he's been delivering.

It seems you're changing the narrative. Giants don't have a "creampuff" schedule sans Washington. You've been in one-score nailbiters and have yet to dominate a team.
I think the struggle is due to internal adjustments. Mac could come right back if he lands with Da Raidahs.

I got called out for zin for saying nice things Jones. I cannot project too high someone who couldn't learn under Jason Garrett while Dak could.

I don't mind Daniel Jones succeeding just enough in a CONTRACT YEAR before coming back down to Earth for the next 5 years as Giants starter.

I don't fall for every QB. Have yet to be sold on Lawrence although the tangibles are elite. His play is anything but elite...

Lawrence has one heck of a lot more potential as a starting QB than Mac Jones. (or Pickett for that matter)

Frankly I'd give him the edge physically over every QB you've "gushed over" in the last couple seasons with the possible exception of Burrow.

Lawrence is physically way above Burrow. So yes, his potential is much greater. No dispute there.

His ball velocity is right up there with Allen and Mahomes, if not a little faster than either. It's really eye-popping even in highlights.

As for the Giants, they 100% had/have an extremely easy schedule (4th easiest overall based on 2021 stats) this year and for what SHOULD BE obvious reasons. This is a big part of why I've been "curbing my enthusiasm" about the team so far.
