Well that was...an interesting end.

lol. I just can't figure out Mayfield. I guess it's just that he has this kind of game in him every 6 or 9 starts or something, and the rest is pretty much garbage-to-mediocre? Is that his deal? It must be...

quite a shocker. I thought for sure the game was gonna end 16/3 or worse...and it ALMOST did.

Raiders are done....couldn't even beat the lowly Rams.
Back to being themselves - finding ways to lose. 4th and 3 inside their own 20 for Rams and you jump offside followed by a huge sack and swatting the ball out of Bakers hand to give the Rams another 1st down. Stupid shit.

In summary:
Josh McDaniels is extremely hated amongst Broncos fans. Wrecked them as the HC and continues to wreck them as HC of the Raiders.

Also, he has lost to a head coach with no prior experience and a Baker Mayfield going on basically one day of practice on a new team.

The Broncos and the Raiders are both firmly "also rans" this season.

The difference between them is that I fully expected Vegas to suck while Wilson/Denver's humiliating offensive play came as a bit of a surprise.

Russell Wilson is a prime example of not airing dirty laundry and letting the outsiders not really "know him" until after he's sold off. The flaws of him not utilizing the middle of the field, not using wristbands, holding the ball too long, needing run game support, and deteriorating athletic skills probably could have been noticed with deeper study and less favorable interpretation of his film, but the Broncos were chasing the a Peyton Manning 2.0 just like Disney Star Wars was trying to repeat the the haphazard way the original trilogy came together.

It's business, players are assets, and there is no crime in selling lemon players to another, unlike cars and stocks.

EVERY NFL quarterback needs a solid ground-game to be truly successful.

The worst defense in pro football will eat any passing game alive if they have ZERO concern about stopping effective running plays.

Some attacks are more slanted in favor of the pass and Russ let his victim meme of letting him cook grow. Seattle happened to be slanted in favor of a balanced attack.

Russ now gets what he wanted. The Aaron Rodgers offense and he's not executing on the same level as Aaron Rodgers.

Russ not using the middle of the field is one statement far closer to fact, as heat maps can be used to authenticate that assertion. In the past, his other strengths compensated for the deficiency, but those other skills, especially the play extension ability, is in decline.

Nevertheless it's literally football 101 that without a running game your passing game is going to suffer greatly.

Dan Marino had the fastest release I've ever seen and even he was never able to get a ring because Miami had no ground-game whatsoever when he was at his best.

Just watched the last drive by Mayfield to win the game. That was an impressive drive for being with a team less than a week with no timeouts. The raiders had two dumb penalties on their part - but that's part of the game. Play stupid penalties, win losing prizes.

Er, I get donkos fans are kinda fucked in the head shit for brains, but why would they have an issue with McDaniels fucking the Raiders?

For not airing dirty laundry they sure did a shit job. Seattle literally spent years trying to trade him. I can't think of a situation even remotely close where a team made it very blatantly obvious they wanted to move on from a player. Its only Denver's fault they were goddamn dumb enough to make the trade they did, but they were desperate. But they're also stupid for thinking their roster was more talented than it actually is and that Wilson was gonna help them to compete.

And while his play fell off a lot, this isn't all on him. Denver's offensive woes didn't start with him and their new coach (whom they got because they were trying to suck A-aron "I'm vaxxed via telephathy of molecules bro" Rodgers's dick) and their idiotic ownership and Big Teeth "couldn't win a Super Bowl til Terrell Davis" President are to blame for that.

Lots of that is similar to complaints about Mahomes and the argument basically just boils down to "once he stops being good then obviously he'll be playing bad" like you predicted this all along. Wilson was underrated for years. I actually have a hunch he's not done and has been playing injured as well as in a uniquely shit situation. Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping that organization continues to be a laughingstock level fuck up because fuck them, but I wouldn't bet on Wilson being done just yet. Honestly I'd love for them to make some rash decision and send him to another team (whilst being stuck paying for a good portion of his contract) and watch him flourish. I bet the Jets would actually rather wish they had him right now for instance.

I actually like your Star Wars analogy because the Pey-pey shit was the NFL gifting the donkos just like they did at the end of Elway's career (which literally included them getting caught playing with cooking oil on their jerseys in the playoffs - they were made to change at halftime but otherwise face no consequences for it), so it was more like the 3rd time they tried going for the magic.

man, I was so angry when Russell went to Denver because...fuck this shit I can't pull for Denver. FML.

All of my friends felt the same way, even the one that spent years in Denver and found himself on the fan-side of that organization a few years ago. We're mostly WFT people, which was I think Russell's wife's preferred team, but that was also the worst place in our our minds, lol. ....but damn, he probably would have been better off in Washington (no one knew that fucking Dan Snyder would actually be on the outs this season).

All of that said, it's clear he's been on the decline with his primary skillset, but I agree that he could still thrive in an organization that is setup to work with him, where he is now. I honestly haven't watched a single Denver game this year because they haven't been on TV here for games that I have been able to watch.

I think the only reason one of the NY teams didn't pick him up or even consider it (I think the area both of them want to be), is obligation to their young QBs. ....that seems to have changed very quickly with the Jets.

At least I can finally go back to my regularly-scheduled program of hating Pete Carroll and wishing zero success on him without any reservations.

Unless Wilson magically discovers the fountain of youth over the off-season the Broncos really got boned.

He's actually BAD now.

Because McDaniels still fucked the Broncos twice this year.

Raiders swept the Donkeys.

And the Seachickens also get helped by the Broncos' losses.

I don't know how Julian Love whiffed so bad.

Jones is getting killed and has no good receivers to throw quickly too.

The defense is looking suspect

Welp time to turn off the Giants..... and flip off the lights on this season.

The problems with this team run deep and won't be a quick fix.
