When they were carting the iggles punter off, it sure looked like he said "fuck you, you piece of shit." (bad lip reading)

that was a weird one, too, but I was referring to the earlier Giants punt where the punter performed a "Scottish Dropkick," according to TV-talking guy.

For not airing dirty laundry they sure did a shit job. Seattle literally spent years trying to trade him. I can't think of a situation even remotely close where a team made it very blatantly obvious they wanted to move on from a player. Its only Denver's fault they were goddamn dumb enough to make the trade they did, but they were desperate. But they're also stupid for thinking their roster was more talented than it actually is and that Wilson was gonna help them to compete.

And while his play fell off a lot, this isn't all on him. Denver's offensive woes didn't start with him and their new coach (whom they got because they were trying to suck A-aron "I'm vaxxed via telephathy of molecules bro" Rodgers's dick) and their idiotic ownership and Big Teeth "couldn't win a Super Bowl til Terrell Davis" President are to blame for that.

Lots of that is similar to complaints about Mahomes and the argument basically just boils down to "once he stops being good then obviously he'll be playing bad" like you predicted this all along. Wilson was underrated for years. I actually have a hunch he's not done and has been playing injured as well as in a uniquely shit situation. Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping that organization continues to be a laughingstock level fuck up because fuck them, but I wouldn't bet on Wilson being done just yet. Honestly I'd love for them to make some rash decision and send him to another team (whilst being stuck paying for a good portion of his contract) and watch him flourish. I bet the Jets would actually rather wish they had him right now for instance.

I actually like your Star Wars analogy because the Pey-pey shit was the NFL gifting the donkos just like they did at the end of Elway's career (which literally included them getting caught playing with cooking oil on their jerseys in the playoffs - they were made to change at halftime but otherwise face no consequences for it), so it was more like the 3rd time they tried going for the magic.
Seattle may have wanted to trade him, but outsiders got no hints (or simply ignored them) that he couldn't utilize the middle of the field, his athleticism might be declining, or that he might not have been the most...approachable to teammates. The wristband thing only slipped out this year when the deal was done for months. Basically, they wanted to sell, but gave the impression they were selling a Porsche in a good condition, not a Sebring.

Seattle did not tank Wilson's desirability and humouring the "let Russ cook" for part of the season did allow him to have a streak of hot statistical production that only served to increase the price and reputation. The Bears were going to offer up a king's ransom of 3 first round picks. Wilson still gave the impression he was a well-oiled luxury car like a BMW who hadn't reached the "maintenance wall" of that car.

Rather than get the next one, the Broncos got the next Herschel Walker.

Future GOAT Purdy is off to an impressive start.

He looks better than I was expecting.... premature to even say he'll be a successful starter until we see a LOT more football though.

These 4pm games are all looking ugly.

Taylor Heinicke also lit up the Bucs when no one had film on him.

Heinicke has fallen from that peak to a likeable guy and leader but a little too prone to INTs.

See!

....granted, this is a lot like Kapernick's first game, lol. Though I never really thought much of that guy for the long term, even though he did have those great, uh, 4 games. lol
He played only 4 good games and got to the Superbowl?

He didn't get to the superbowl. That was Alex Smith's team. Kaepernick came in for the last ~5 or so games of that season after Smith went down, was great and stayed in after Smith recovered, and also had the great playoff games.

Why does everyone forget this?

That was his only good tenure in the NFL. He went to straight mediocre by the start of the next season. No one had seen Kaepernick before and it was so late in the season, the Niners were just absolutely dominant and he had the arm to sort of extend their offense beyond what they could already do, so it was all just gift-wrapped for him to keep things rolling before anyone could adjust. I love Jim Harbaugh, but that decision always pissed me off. Smith went to KC and was great for two more years...of course replaced by someone much better, lol.

If that team had started with Kaep that season and stayed with him, the offense would have faded by the second half and they probably would have blown the playoffs like the Cowboys, if they even made it.
