I don't know if they have an algorithm/chart that made that decision. But in real time, I couldn't believe they'd choose to kick a 64 yard FG. IIRC the conversion rate for 4th and 5 is a bit under 50%. With all their timeouts and 45 seconds on the clock, they had plenty of time to get into FG range if they could just convert on 4th down.Russ wasn't even allowed to cook on 4th down.
They should have won, period. With 3 goal line chances in the 2nd half, they produced 3 points. Although Geno Smith had a very solid first half, the Seahawks were clearly the inferior team. The Broncos failed at execution and IIRC some bad penalties played a factor too.And neither do the Broncos.
