I think the guys best years are behind him and I wouldn't sign him to any kind of long term deal.

I suspect there is some handshake deal with Carr and the media, because any time he takes the field....the slant is positive and never highlights his flaws. Heck, it might be even an owners thing because they're doing a mea culpa for basically hanging his brother out to dry in Houston.

Carr has the toolbox(good mobility for sure, pretty good arm strength) but his noggin does not have the processing capabilities to get things done. The moments just come in games in which you know the Raiders will stall out and sputter offensively. The exact opposite of a Brady. Redzone INTs are also an issue with him, an indication of his inability to read the field or know where to go.

Carr is the guy with the solid paper resume but an underwhelming value and overpayment after hiring.

Jim Irsay would need to be on more than a few lines of coke, and OD'ing on LSD to seriously consider Derek Carr. At least the retreads he tried had great peaks in their past. Carr has never peaked.

Houston might want him, but big brother might tell him no.

Washington might throw flyer for another incompetent sacrificial monkey QB on a team that has no plans to go up or down.

I'm fairly optimistic that the Lions might approach 500 this year or get close to it, Bears are going to suck, Packers have no receivers but Rogers will turn someone into an all pro, and Cousins will be amazing (until it counts)

32 is far from old for an NFL QB. His best years were never spectacular but up until 2022, he seemed like a league average (or slightly better) starting QB. That's what the Raiders thought when they extended him, but apparently his agent got him a really crappy contract. The Raiders can basically walk away before 2/15/2023 without any repercussions (besides a small cap hit). Honestly it's the worst extension I've ever head about for an NFL "franchise" QB.
