Well I didn't expect this game to happen, but going in I felt there was too much gushing over the Chargers lately. Last week, Tony Romo said he considered them a Super Bowl caliber team, despite the top-heavy AFC they'd have to somehow conquer.

Also, I don't know exactly why Doug Pederson was fired by Philly. He beat Tom Brady with Nick Foles at QB! I shouldn't make grand conclusions after one season of play, but Urban Meyer should never get serious consideration for any head coaching job again after what Pederson has done in JAX.

What's the odds of Staley getting the boot if the Jags win? The second half has been atrocious for the Chargers, in typical Chargers fashion nonetheless.
I'd say 30%. I haven't seen anything that convinces me we're looking at a very good head coach. I did stop watching the game from 27-0 to 30-20, so I don't know what happened.

Also, there's been consternation over the Mike Williams injury last week in the meaningless game.

Heh, I guess the coach just had a LOT of trust in their kicker, or as some of the players say, BIG TRUZZ.
Kickers are very reliable these days, so the FG they were setting up really wasn't a big deal (although it was a close shave at the end). In the earlier game, the Seahawks kicker is 7/7 on 50+ yard FGs for the season, and he's a guy I've never even heard of.

IIRC Green Bay's Mason Crosby (very old veteran) made a 56 yarder at home in tough conditions two weeks ago and he's years removed from his athletic prime. Basically unless you have one of the few bad kickers in the league, anything shorter than 50 yards is not considered challenging anymore.

I don't know why the media wants to fluff the Chargers so hard, but they've been doing it for over a decade now and the Chargers perpetually, well do things like the game tonight. I'm not sure there's a team that has squandered more talent. They're almost as cursed as the Browns at this point.

Agreed, but ever since Reid the Eagles have been too impulsive. That did get them a Super Bowl but I think it will cost them long term. Actually, prior to their Super Bowl win the Eagles were right there with the Chargers for squandering talent, partially because of bad head coaching moves. The key difference being that the Eagles often didn't have a QB capable of getting them where they wanted to go. They've been loaded with talent a lot though.

Meyer is a good college coach but he clearly is waaay out of his element in the pro game. And honestly I'm not sure he'd do that well in college after they've normalized the shit that was enabling him to get teams loaded with talent, which was his actual consistent success. That's why he kept bouncing around and then tried to get out of college game entirely, I think even he knows his jig is up.

Phins getting destroyed. No surprises and was a skip for me before the game started.

Considering a rookie QB in literally his first NFL start for Miami they really could have skipped even playing this game. High potenbtial for the same with the Ravens/Bengals game tonight although at least there Baltimore has a very strong defense.

The only really interesting matchup out of todays three is Giants/Vikings and that's at least partially because I'm a Giants fan.

Let's hope the divisional round has some better games.

Jacksonville has a dominant defensive line and fast linebackers.... Miami not so much.

More importantly however what this Dolphins team lacks is confidence they have a chance to win today at all with their QB situation and I can't blame them a bit.

Miami is a talented young team but they still need a quarterback who can stay intact before they'll win anything.

Didn't have time to watch either game yesterday and wasn't expecting much from the dolphins but they put on a nice comeback this past second quarter. Tie game

Omg .... REALLY glad I'm not a hardcore Bills fan!

Nonsense like this first half are the reason I think the Bills should be the 3-seed in the AFC behind both the Bengals and the Chiefs this year.

Spectacular as some of Allens throws can be, when it comes to crunch-time he and the team always seem to fall short with craptastic dumb plays.

This game should have been over.

My body wants to get ready to go troll mode once more....

Still too much time to lapse into that as of now.

In some alternative universe, Skylar Thompson and Skyy Moore are an elite pair on the same team.

Well, there's a genius at HC on that team.

Seriously there's just something missing on this Bills team and it goes well beyond Josh Allen he's not the only problem .... I can't put my finger on it.

EDIT: LOLOL @ that buffoon comparing Tagovailoa to Dan Marino!
