Eagles should smash the Giants unless something goes horribly horribly wrong.

Too bad, but the matchup I wanted up to see but whatev.

Hoping for Eagles (w/ healthy Hurts) vs Niners in the championship. Rest of the nfc are hackers and posers.

I'd like to see the Jags knock out the Chefs as well, advance to the Superbowl to play the Eagles, then you can get former Eagles HC vs current Eagles HC.

the country doesn't care about those franchises enough to make that story...why do you think the NFL cares? lol

Root for "America's team" then lol

Good thing is that I can root against all of those teams now, with no requirement for any of your boring propositions necessary to occur right now, to thus limit my choices!

Except Hurts isn't going to be completely healthy vs the Giants and the way the Eagles played the last few weeks of the season NY actually has a pretty decent shot to win this game. (hard to believe I know)

Having said that I'm still picking the Eagles in a tight one since THEY are not a bunch of chokers like the Vikings.

Cowboys vs Brady, who do I hate more?

Go Cowboys.

TWO questions here really!

Brady vs Prescott ? = No question about it I'm rooting for Dak.

Tampa vs Dallas ? = BOTH teams home-states are redneck-run $hitholes politically BUT Tampa really isn't significant enough to "hate" while I DESPISE the Cow-Pies.

I doubt there is anything substantial different living in the cities like Dallas or Tampa. Florida is intra-US immigration central, especially of rich grey hairs with decidedly non-red tendencies. The cities themselves are diverse and contrarian to the master state.

I'm dedicating a little time to developing an estate plan for my mother and the after getting a grasp on how the current local government operates in Montgomery County, MD, simply going to an unfamiliar place is practically necessary. There are more cities to look at, but Houston, TX checks many boxes, including accessibility to Asian stores.

I've been to both cities more than once and while I would never live in either one by choice I'd have to give the edge to Tampa far as nice places to be.

Dallas is like a lame spread out NYC in the middle of a scrub-desert populated with bottom-feeder rednecks who can't even drive in the rain, god-forbid anything frozen.

Well, I haven't been there, true. I was just looking at the stats on wikipedia. It's only 28% non-Hispanic whites there now. There was some shift that occurred between 1990 and 2010.

Don't get me wrong ... despite the hype IME there are more NICE people than mean, angry, hateful scumbags pretty much everywhere I've been including Texas and Florida.

Having said that, I'm not sure where you pulled the "race" card out of since I never brought it up at all.... you might want to take a look at that since it seems to come up with you a lot.

You mentioned "rednecks" first; the various definitions of that term carries a racial component referring to a subset of "white people". It's definitely not used to refer to just any race or ethnicity, especially in modern casual conversation. I'm simply providing information to show that the impression someone would make from reading your statements are currently not accurate regarding Dallas.

So, I didn't bring it up first; it was already brought into discussion. I simply made explicit what was already implicit in using "redneck".

The type of discrimination that matters to me is one of action. Where Agent Y, who is more knowledgeable, powerful, and have better access to resources, exploits client X, who is vulnerable because he/she lacks one or all of the things agent Y has.

Okay I'll play.... FIRST I am white which (per many African-Americans folks lol) makes it at least semi-okay to make light of other white people. Nevertheless if you were somehow offended then I apologize.

Second, do you want to play "find the other examples" to support the accusatory post you made above instead of making excuses for your own comment? (IME you get more respect if you admit a mistake and apologize instead)

If you push it I'll be happy to start posting quotes.... it would be prudent to just skip it and try to do better next time IMO though instead of turning this into some kind of weird pissing contest.

I wonder how much Jones is gonna get paid now.

Really considering the situation with QB's in the league right now it's tough to say whose playing a whole lot better than Jones aside from the obvious Allen and Mahomes. (and maybe Burrow... I still need to see more of Purdy though)

The ultimate dollar amount he gets will (somewhat unfairly IMO) depend on just how far in this years playoff run he actually takes the Giants but whatever happens at this point he's getting some big money.

Tampa is Tucson minus the Taco Bell stucco shit and add a beach. Not a great beach, those are on the east coast, but still a beach.

I would rather live in Tucson then Tampa personally although it's not exactly "top of my list" for a dream-home either! I had several friends who went to the University of AZ in Tucson and we had some really good times there back in the day.

Also on the whole they have about the best Mexican food I've ever tasted!

(Neither Tampa or Dallas comes to mind as "best" for anything!)

I was careful to add stucco to my description to avoid confusion. Tucson food is good. Fake adobe fecking everywhere is a bit old school.

Totally off-topic, even for this off-topic post: I've been researching old stonework in Tucson and paid a visit to the Catholic cathedral there. The cathedral was finished in 1897 of brick and stone in a gothic style. In 1928, the bishop got a bug up his ass and decided to modify the facade to a "Mexican Baroque" theme which involved plastering over the gothic style stonework. I really want a look at the stonework. As I was internally phrasing a request of the staff to inquire if any of the stonework might be exposed or if photos might exist of the stonework, the words that came to mind were, "Do you have any photos of the cathedral before it was covered in this Taco Bell shit?" Wisdom suggested that I rephrase my request.

Edit: oh yeah, football. Go team!

Everyone who decided to call it an early night and skip Tampa/Dallas made the smart call.... terrible boring game and it really was over at the end of the first half.

Brady is a tired old man and the Bucs are just lifeless.

Yep. Tampa Bay looks like a team that didn't deserve to be there, because they didn't. Had a losing record most of the year and their division is a joke. Brady also looks washed up. His kids now have divorced parents so Tom could look like a turkey in the playoffs

I had to snicker when Aikman said midway through the 3rd quarter "I guarantee nobody's tuning out," referencing Tom's reputation for great comebacks. I tuned out before the 3rd quarter ended, disgusted with Buck's absurdly fawning praise of Prescott. He started the broadcast by declaring that Tampa was fully prepared. What a jerk.

I actually hit the off button after they showed Jerry Jones and his entourage for the 5th time celebrating Dallas' touchdown.

Great Mexican food is definitely a thing!

Best?

Tampa is the best in the US for lightening storms.

Dallas is a dangerous place, according to Johnny Winter, "because you ain't safe in Dallas, yee hee hee, I don't care where you go!"
