I didn't care who won that game either way, but what are Philly fans saying about the 3 gift TD's they gave up? those two passes were probably the easiest TD's I have ever seen in a Super Bowl...could those guys have been more wide open?

And I can guarantee you that if the situation was reversed, they would be screaming if a penalty wasn't called (which would pretty much apply to any fan base)...

If you go to the blogs, it's 2021 all over again calling for Gannon's (DC) head. Utterly inexcusable performance by the D.
Just one stop and they win.

Really, that's the only acceptable answer. Offense wasn't perfect, but they did their job. D and special teams did not.

Stories came out they hired Vic Fangio to consult on D for the Superbowl. Yeah. Money not well spent.

Sadly, the Birds lost. Somehow, I'll manage to continue to find meaning in my life. All this quibbling and bitching -- "corrupt officials? Really?? -- is small and petty and stupid. You play the game knowing the officials are not perfect. If you don't manage to overcome the obstacles before you, you lose. Simple as that. Please go cry elsewhere. It's unseemly.

This is why I like Hurts so much. Dude works hard, shows leadership and takes accountability. He blames only himself for the fumble and loss. Sets tone, and you have Bradbury taking accountability for the hold.
"You win or you learn"

None of trash like after the NFCCG, like where McCaffrey is saying the game was "stolen".

Hurts will never be in State Farm commercials, he's not that type of charismatic, but he leads that team. He'll have another crack at a ring.

No one wonders why you could give a flying fuck about pro sports (your dumbass even messed that cliche up - it's couldn't).

But we do wonder if you don't care about sports or the NFL, why you bother clicking on a thread about it, and even make a post about it.

Oh yeah that's right, it's because you "could give a flying fuck" about it.
Oh did I touch a nerve? grammer nazi

The behavior of these rabid fans demonstrates how little we have progressed as a supposed intelligent species. These cities also have the honor of spending taxpayer dollars to build stadiums and arena's to support a for-profit business, then pay for the damage caused by the fans which doesn't seem to matter if they win or lose. Maybe Amazon should demand that local governments build them a huge warehouse, on free land, so they can make money.

I don't know either. It was so blatant and wasn't just the jersey tug. The DB clearly impeded the progress of the receiver. And while, yes, calls like that get missed plenty (even the awful Fox presenters pointed one out earlier and if you look there were multiple on that play with one DB clearly grabbing jersey and then another on a different receiver clearly manipulating the receiver's body and neither was called) but that doesn't mean you magically decide to not call it just because it'll add drama. Its interesting how the Eagles are like "nah, that was the right call" and just in general are not bellyaching about it while I guess a ton of other people have lost their goddamned minds.
Coincidentally, it was also Bradberry holding JSS on the earlier play that was missed. So Bradberry got one penalty called for 3 grabs of the same WR. The argument made by @TheVrolok that you want refs to be consistent (-ly bad?) is a fair point. However, that isn't what most people are whining about. They want refs to swallow the whistle at the end of games, which as Bill Barnwell points out causes a different problem. (Yet it's ironic how egregious the infamous 2019 Rams/Saints no-call was, and how so many people love to say the NBA is "rigged.") Barnwell's SB recap:

And yes, if they hadn't called the penalty, the Chiefs still kick the go-ahead FG. Philly could have had about a minute of clock to work with, which is meaningful. But there were a host of other reasons they lost the game after halftime rather than a penalty that was enforced at a critical moment.

Apparently Reid might be considering retiring. I'd be very doubtful he does, but if so, who the hell do they find for a coach? Granted they could probably take their pick (wonder if Sean Payton might would have some regrets). Maybe they'd promote Bienemy, or possibly Spagnuolo.

But imagine what that would do. It could be chaos. Would Billy leave New England (or maybe Kraft trade him?), would Pete Carroll make a shrewd move? Sean McVay?

Or, oh no, Kliff Kingsbury?
tom brady as coach.
he needs another ring. he has more fingers to fill

Nope, not at all.

Just calling out a dumbass when I see one.

And here you are, yet again, making another post in a thread about a topic you "could give a flying fuck about".
Your lack of maturity is clearly demonstrated in your childish name-calling. Really, I left high school a long time ago, yet that mindset demonstrated by others, still surfaces in the oddest places.

someones still salty about the eagles beating his giants 3x
Oh I could give two shits.

Giants had a much better than expected rebuilding year but they have a ways to go. Don't mind their losses, in fact I was expecting a few more at least, so I'm happy with their performance overall.

I'll always root against Dallas and Philly though, it's just how it is as a Giants fan, for decades. Plus I thought the amount of predictions that this was totally Philly's game to lose like KC barely had a shot, to be ridiculous. And said so.

I didn't see this last night but makes total sense now.

I didn't get why he's throwing a bomb to begin with. The Chiefs lined up in an interesting defense, as you'll always see prevent in this situation. It seems like they were specifically guarding against a medium pass to set up laterals. But the Chiefs even tried to pressure Hurts as the play developed, instead of completely dropping back into coverage.

But the Chiefs unconventional defense aside, nobody can throw the ball 72 yards in the air (despite someone in this thread recently claiming otherwise). And certainly not on a shoulder that is not 100%. I wouldn't practice the heck out of it, but I'd still want to have a couple lateral plays ready for this specific situation.

The final spread was Eagles -1.5. Although there were some valid reasons to like Philly's chances, anybody thinking KC barely had a shot was and is delusional. My personal rule is to never bet against Patrick Mahomes.

That game was lost when Hurts dropped the dang ball on the ground in a 100% "unforced error" and it led to 7 points for KC in the first half.

Also James Bradberry (the Eagles player who was flagged on that last play) said it WAS holding and the penalty was justified.

Any Eagles fan crying over this loss should blame those actually responsible for it... the Eagles!

Very well thought out post. Would read again. A++

And here you are, a 3rd time, posting in a thread, you don't care about and "could give a flying fuck about".

I think Vegas got it right. Eagles slightly favored but close to dead even, because nobody knew how healthy Mahomes world be.

But if you read this thread, and other places where fans comment, Philly was way overrated to win.

For the record, the Eagles hired Vic Fangio to consult for the offense. Sounds weird since you've been one of the best teams all season long. But apparently the thinking was he's as familiar with losing to the Chiefs as anyone not named Jon Gruden?

This is why I like Hurts so much. Dude works hard, shows leadership and takes accountability. He blames only himself for the fumble and loss. Sets tone, and you have Bradbury taking accountability for the hold.

However Hurts career plays out, I'm not good enough to predict. But he's going to get at at least $150M guaranteed money this offseason. An interesting quirk of being drafted in the second round is there is no fifth year option. So like Dak Prescott for Dallas, the Eagles have one less year of runway before his lucrative extension kicks in. The recent history of teams paying QBs (not named Mahomes) top-6 money is very shaky. Because the GM is forced to cut corners elsewhere to fit under the salary cap.

And 100% agreed, the 2022 Forty Whiners are the worst losing team I can remember in pro sports.

Spags can basically choose his comfort level because he already tried his hand at head coaching. Some prefer to stay coordinators or assistant after reaching the top, i.e Joe Bugel.

Anyone "shocked" that the Mahomes-led Chiefs won the Super Bowl this year must not have been paying much attention to the NFL.

In fact they were my pick to win it all for the majority of the season until the injuries started piling up.

Pat Mahomes has that "magic" you only see once in a great while even in great starting QB's ... the kind Elway, Brady or Montana had in their prime.

Hurts is getting paid and he deserves it. Would love to have him as the QB of a team I liked.

Seems he's a mature guy. There's a video from the super bowl where his coach is raising his hand in a douchebag way apparently and Jalen grabs his arm and puts it down. The QB is more mature than the coach
