First the rogue ref shadow-guarding to take out the interceptions and now its the Vikings against 12. Oh well, they still won

It was the right move. They got slammed last night, especially the southtowns of Buffalo where the stadium is. And looking at the radar today, it isn't letting up. Just a constant lake effect snowband sitting over the area. Getting people in and out of the area would have been a nightmare, even on Sunday.

Good friend of mine grew up in Buffalo. He says that when he was a kid it was "routine" to have to tunnel out of the front door after storms and there were a few times they exiting via the porch-roof and had to dig DOWN to get to it!

It took Tua a little while to become freshly baked, but he's tasty as fuck now.

The same will happen with Pickett and the Steelers will threaten for a Super Bowl before the Giants will.

I still have my doubts about Pickett although I think he has a future as an NFL quarterback.... you already know how I feel about Daniel Jones.

I wouldn't be completely shocked to see the Steelers REALLY contend before the Giants but that has nothing to do with the as-yet unproven rookie Pickett, it has to do with them having better "football people" making their personal decisions and a terrific head coach.

Having said that, if I had to choose between the Giants current team and the Steelers I would take NY's guys in a nanosecond.

Allen got Diggs and started to shine. Tua got Hill and started to shine. It's amazing what an elite receiver can do for a young QB.

Tua is reading the field. Yes, Tyreek is open due to scheme and ability, but if Tua doesn't make the right reads, Miami wouldn't have an offense, as shown when their backups are placed. Tua is not Mahomes, so Tyreek deep highlights are lacking in his new location. But Tua can see horizontal and still make intermediate strikes. It also helps that his coach actually believes in him and supports him.

Allen also reads the field very well, especially this year. His only flaw is getting cocky about being able to fit it in there...and perhaps being to tall to perform QB sneaks without a gaffe in critical moments.

On the other hand, you would be right in the case of Dak Prescott. Dak isn't quite as good without Amari Cooper. Cooper is probably the best WR for a QB's contract but not one you can trust for a playoff run.

Word is that Pittsburgh offensive coordinator is not up to snuff. Daboll is clearly a good coach on the other hand. So good...NY may be trapped with Daniel Jones. mwaha.

The biggest problem the Steelers have at the moment is that their offense is bad. (mostly including the quarterback)

It's not really about the play-calling either, it's about the players failure to execute on a regular basis.

The Giants are NOT a great football team BUT they ARE an "okay" team that on a good day can beat anyone in the NFL with an "acceptable" offense and strong D/special teams.

Sure, Pickett isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. But he's got some damn good steel worth restoration.

We'll just have to wait until...next year to continue the debate.

Yep.... AFTER I see Pickett do some winning I'll make a prediction as to his successful future in the NFL not before.

I'm treating Pickett as just showing tape in an extended preseason. Seeing his decision-making, ball placement, any struggles. He IS ahead of the curve.

The vast majority of rookie/new NFL QB's ultimately fail to win and many make you wonder what in the heck the scouts were thinking. I do see potential in Pickett so can't argue with the above.

Same goes for the new guy I've really been impressed with @ QB this season that so far few outside of NY seem to be talking about Zach Wilson.

If it's cold enough with a strong sustained Northwest/West wind it can happen anytime during late Autumn/Winter.

Per my friend from Buffalo (Kenmore NY ~ Google Maps) it's not nearly as common as it used to be EARLY in the winter though because it just doesn't stay cold for long very often anymore.

However "Lake-Effect" snow is now an all-winter event in Buffalo because Lake Erie no longer freezes completely over. Used to be that freeze would (mostly) shut down precip in late December/early January.

Numbers 1 & 2 on the list:

I'm not 100% sure about Tomlin, was it him or was it Ben that won all those games ala Brady/Belichick?

Wow I had no idea we were ahead of Buffalo, at least for 2020. There's always a friendly competition between Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse as to who is going to end the year with the most snowfall. Syracuse used to always win because Lake Ontario is so deep it doesn't freeze over, allowing the "warm" water to rise into colder air coming in southeast from Canada. Rochester also gets hit, but it depends on the wind direction. Buffalo is usually spared because like Captante said, Lake Erie used to freeze over and prevent the "warm" air from rising. This early in the season it would happen anyways, just because it is too early to be frozen either way.

My girlfriend was supposed to go to this game (her mom has season tickets), but looks like they're gonna just take the refund and not head out to Detriot.

Detroit kept alive by a terrible PI call. Too many bad calls this season. The one they missed last week in the Buffalo game was the worst
