ah yes, the ol' Patriot way of screwing up a team that never, ever works for anyone that's done it (see every Patriot coordinator that went on to be a head coach)

I've seen rumors about the Raiders looking at Tom Brady - I hope not. Gruden traded Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper, so it's not just ex-Pats coaches. If memory serves the last Super Bowl the Raiders won was with a former Patriot (QB instead of coach).

I have always wondered whether Josh McDaniels' actions are to help Master BIll Belichick and friends rather than the team at hand. I think the 2006 Broncos eliminated the Pats once, and Shanahan left behind a potent offense, which was subsequently dismantled entirely...and he picked Tim Tebow....

The Devante Adams trade's most significant impact was inducing the loss of Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs, not benefitting the Raiders. Buffalo actually would have benefitted most from such a loss, and the Pats maybe in the future. It also is a very "un-Patriot" way of getting talent...buying Adams at peak price and then extending him at peak price. Adams is high tier but he's not Randy Moss level and he failed to elevate Carr..

Based on comments on another board by Raiders fans there...I think Waller might have slacked off after getting paid and dropped passes all over the place.

Yeah, Denver learned that lesson the hard way. McDaniels is still hated more than Hackett, even after this absolute dumpster fire of a past season.

On the bright side, here's to not being the worst in the division, hopefully, next year!

I think McDaniels beating the Broncos twice this season with a crappy Raiders team solidified the vitriol towards McDaniels. lol

Hoping for good games. I do think the Bengals have the edge with Mahomes gimpy, but it's still the Chiefs.

Rooting for San Francisco of course. Actually going on a first date to watch the Philly game at a big Irish sports bar in the city with over 40 beers on draft. She is from Philly, but she knows I'm rooting against her team

I like the Eagles and the Bengals on Sunday.

I'm not really "rooting" for any of the teams that are left though!

I'm anti-Eagles.

The rest...eh...neutral. Despite my "Lord Burrows", I don't love the Bengals. I just give the impression I do.

I have a degree of respect for San Fran but that's mostly because of Bill Walsh...needless to say none that carried over when Harbaugh was there.

One thing's for sure, no pretenders or Cinderellas in this conference round.

By "like" I mean I "favor" them to win not that I'm a fan.

The closest I get to actually "liking" any of the four teams left would be KC believe it or not but I think Mahomes high-ankle injury vs the Jags doomed the Chiefs this year.

True in that regard.

I think the NFC teams have the edge on defense while the AFC is more proven and established on offense. More proven is different from potency, where every team definitely has the talent and tools to light the other up. Chiefs and Bengals have been through the experience already. The Eagles have not, and some of the 9ers have, but not Purdy.

I'm actually leaning towards an NFC winner as of now because both AFC offenses have some injury question marks, those being the Bengals OL and Mahomes' ankle.

My gut feeling is telling me it's Lord Burrows year!

My HEAD otoh says defense wins championships! (so Eagles)

Let's see what happens Sunday!

The divinely ordained result is Purdy stealing Tom Brady's mojo. Rookie Mr. Irrelevant wins Super Bowl on Tom Brady's childhood team.

Then Tom Brady cannot help himself and wants to turn into a QB vampire, needing consecrated turf to sustain his undead body. XD

I think I made everyone root for the 9ers now.

After seeing the way the Bengal fans acted before/after the Bills game, and Eli Apple's tweet response to Diggs, I hope they make it to the Superbowl and get destroyed by the 49ers.

Or lose to the Chiefs, and then the Chiefs lose to the 49ers.

Really I just want a competitive game and I totally WANT to see the kid (Purdy) succeed... BUT I have a feeling Philly's fearsome pass-rush is going to be too much for SF this time around and he'll be running for his life.

I think it will be Eagles vs Bengals with the Eagles winning in a blow out (mostly because of the Bengals decimated oline)

I could see this .... BUT don't underestimate Lord Burrow!
(he's the "smartest" star QB we've seen in quite awhile)

Last year was a "learning experience" for him.... and I think he did!

They DO still need to beat KC again first though!

Honestly, even if Purdue completely melts, there should not be one whisper of negativity directed at him. What he’s managed so far is just amazing. Even tho he played, as has been pointed out before, 48 games in college, I’m fairly certain he’s had a hella time adjusting to NFL speed, size, quickness, etc.

Sorta pulling for SF solely on that factor. Otherwise, don’t care.

I always care simply as a hardcore NFL fan but that's different then actually having a strong rooting interest in a team. (or against one!)

Purdy is still a rookie and an underdog... be fun if he wins somehow.

However take a look at #1 on this list and the numbers next to it...

NFL Team Sacks Per Game 2022 (lineups.com)

If the 49'ers win Sunday it will most likely be on their tough defense IMO.

I just know this Purdy train can't win the SB, it's never happened so why would it start now...? But against the eagles one small glimmer of hope I have is they have been very bad against teams that can run the ball well, which the Niners do. However against the Cowboys it looked like their D-line was beating our O-line so I don't see them dominating the run game Sunday.

I wouldn't discount Eagles or 9ners offense.
Both have top shelf TEs, WRs and RBs.
Both teams are healthy.

Eagles O line is also top shelf.
Hurts is MVP and offensive POY for a reason.

Hurts' stats are only second to Mahomes, but beyond the numbers, look how Philly has played this year.

Aggressive offense and scoring in first half, getting a big lead, then grinding the clock down in the second. The Giants game was this.
28-0 at halftime, 14-0 end of Q1. Game was already over by then.

Not much scoring in the second half (so not padding stats) but the game was over.

Lastly, Philly O isn't one dimensional. They won just pounding the rock on the ground, they've aired it out and let AJ Brown lite it up, and they turned Hurts loose when you try to cover the other two.

While 9ners match up well, it's the last point that gives the edge to the Eagles. Purdy doesn't have that, and you see him struggling vs Dallas D. Now he'll face an even better set of rushers and ball hawk secondary.

If the game gets one dimensional and they fall behind in a shootout and need to push the ball down field and can't lean on CMC.. well that's a tough ask for the rook.

If the D can slow Philly down, then run the ball on their D (limiting TOP, sacks and TO) then Eagles are vulnerable.

Also 4.1 sacks per game along with a ton of QB "hurry-ups".

Purdy may be in for a long day. (ask Daniel Jones)

To be fair however the Niners have a much more talented and deeper receiver-core then the Giants did plus a stronger O-line.
