Well the Seachickens are now on top of the NFC West and they deserve it. They're playing some pretty decent ball right now. IDK what's going on with the 9ers. Their D has been pretty bad, but their O has been stinking it up the last 3 weeks. Purdy was making some great throws but then drops some head scratchers. Thank goodness we have the bye week 9 to hopefully stop the bleeding. I'll take 5-3 going into the bye though. I think they've been 4-4 or worse going into the bye the last 4 years before we make a playoff push. But we've got a tough schedule coming up.

Tape study, maybe a concussion? Teams are always constant evolving in response to the tape they put out.

It reflects badly on the QB and play calling with how bad they look on the offense with only 2 players out. The defense shit the bed as well but it's magnified with the poor play on the other side of the ball. But I guess this is Brock deviating back to the norm from his hot start.

I've never been that impressed with Purdy.

Now, here's what I mean by that. Purdy has been playing at an amazing level. I am of the opinion that he's been playing at his absolute ceiling. Remember Minshew Mania? The problem is, sooner or later, you drop back down to earth and play at your "normal" level. With that said, I do believe that he's been playing sub-par the last two to three games. He's not an all-pro like some have been making him out to be, but I also don't believe he's as bad as he's looked the last few games.

If they lose @JAX after the bye, the season is effectively over. Sure it's only the mid-way point and last year's Bengals proved you can recover from early adversity. However, the Niners are one of a handful of "Super Bowl or bust" teams and I doubt any team that's ever lost 4 straight games has made a SB run.

It's easy to point to Purdy's picks, but the unraveling of the once elite defense is actually the bigger story.

Well our gm made a good trade today to give Leonard Williams to Seattle. Got some nice picks.

He still has a lot of redemption to earn after this past off season though.

So the Niners gave up a 3rd round pick to get Chase Young... I don't like the trade in a vacuum because we needed a DB or O-linemen. But it's possible neither were really available. I really don't like it because it's just a rental? His rookie contract is up and if it wasn't for his injuries he'd be looking for the bag, but unsure what he'd be worth on the open market at this moment. Teams usually don't give out big pay days to inconsistent players with injury history (key word, usually).

Once again, FUCK THE GIANTS.

You guys get Thomas(in that tank bowl game) and Thibedoux while Young is now out of Washington.

How in the fuck did Haskins win and of all the times the Giants own the Washington team, you guys didn't show up......

Chase is an athletic one-trick pony with no moves besides a speed rush. Hasn't progressed.

Might add a dynamic as a complementary player.

I am happy with the moves the Commanders made today. It's like the first forward thinking move they have made since Snyder bought AND sold the team. Chances are they weren't going to sign either Sweat or Chase, but would possibly sign Sweat to the tag for the 2024 season while Chase was walking either way.

So at least they got something for both of them. Clearly the NFL doesn't think much of Chase Young if that is all he got.

And on top of it, they both hit free agency after this season, so if the Commanders really wanted either of them, they could get em and still have the 2 extra picks.

Yea I'm a bit disappointed we couldn't land a shut down corner. I haven't been keeping up with Young so IDK how he's doing this year but all I've heard in the past is that he's always injured. Then again, so was CMC so you never know. Been hearing in some FB groups Kyle is going to want Wilks to be on the sidelines vs up in the box. I'm not sure how that's going to solve anything. The D was good when he was in the box for the first 5 games. I think he just lacks the ability to adjust.

It boggles my mind before Chase even, with how much money is in that front D-Line they have failed to get pressures after those first 5 games. That isn't Wilks fault.

As a life long Commanders fan, I've been there since Chase Young came into the NFL.

He started out seeing like he would live up to the hype, but ever since his injury his rookie season, that hype has been nowhere NEAR what it was back then.

There have been a lot of questions about his effort and desire to play football at a high level too. I listen to local sports talk basically all day while working so I hear a lot of stuff about the Commanders. There seems to be a rift between him and Rivera as well, and the general sentiment is that the fans think a lot more of Chase young than the people in the building do as well.

I don't think it is surprising that he only got a late round 3rd pick. He's nothing special here and could just end up being a JAG. He shows flashes, but not enough for a 2nd overall pick which should be a full time impact player. He's had 14 sacks in his career here, which does include injury time. But still, that just is not that much.

He rarely wins his 1 on 1's and doesn't really have any "moves" to get to the QB. It's basically him just doing the same stuff every time and it doesn't work.

That said, I do think a change of scenery is great for him and I think he could be super impactful in SF alongside Bosa. The Commanders defensive coordinator is awful and he does NOTHING unique or special. He cannot dial up ANY plays that are going to surprise the other team so it's like always just the same 4 rushing the same way every time. So that doesn't help him either.

I think with the right coaching and scheme he will be a great player.

The beginning of the end for Chase Young was that playoff game. Wanted Tom, never got Tom, stonewalled everytime...never adjusted. More Andre Carter than Michael Strahan.

Raiders let go of McDaniel & their GM last night. Interim is going to be their linebacker coach. Who's next?

There was some news a couple years back the Eagles were interested in McDaniels. Good thing it didn't work out. I never wanted him anyways. Dodged a huge bullet there. NEVER HIRE A BELICHICK DISCIPLE!!!

Raiders should have kept their interm coach when they fired Chucky, the players loved that dude, forget where he's at now. But if they were smart they'd go after the Commanders OC and give him a HC job after the season is done. That guy deserves a shot AND he's familar with a division foe.

this is actually a great idea. Biennemy (sp?) does deserve a HC after what he did for KC for a few years. Although Washington might want to get rid of Riverboat Ron and hire him as HC next year.

Bieniemy pushes his guys hard....

Results in better conditioning.

Even got mentioned on the broadcasts of Washington games.

It also means Ron Rivera is a nice cupcake who doesn't push his players hard.

The plays Bieniemy calls are conceptually potent, even though Howell and the O can't execute like Mahomes. So, the explosiveness of the Chiefs O is not 100% Andy Reid. Nagy has made the Chiefs less potent, which he did in Chicago too.

Bieniemy becoming a good HC is pretty likely given his approach.
