The Giants defense could have a good game tonight but I hope Tommy Cutlet's mom did his laundry, so he has clean underwear on cuz there's a good chance he shits himself.
Was the guy offsides? Clearly. But let's be real, that penalty has been basically a non-call and just a warning for ages now. And to have that basically inconsequential technical flag basically change the outcome of a playoff-sensitive game is kinda shitty when these guys are laying it out on the field for 60 minutes. I mean Toney is an undisciplined player as we have seen time and time again, but really, ultimately it does feel ticky tacky when it had such big repercussions.
It's more valuable to not throw players under the bus than to do so. Thus, based on "cultural protocol", the press gets the story "they blamed an outsider to the org". Coach "cred" is lost if you throw players under the bus.
I wasn't pay attention then, so I don't know if they will eat a fine.
The announcers did say that that type of call has been given only a technical warning for over the last decade, but this year they started just calling penalties right off the bat. So yes, this is an unusual call based on over a decade of precedent, but they did change the rules this year, and he was clearly way offsides.
What a beautiful throw by Kelce, ruined by yet another stupid Toney move. Not the first time this season he's cost them the game.
No they don't blow the play dead because of offsides. Just like they don't blow it dead for illegal formation. The defense can still make a positive play even though those are called, because as everyone is saying, they may not even have any effect on the play. That's the thing, they didn't call it right off the bat, or at least didn't blow the play dead. Don't they normally blow plays dead if an offensive player is offsides? Why did they let it play as long as they did? That's the only complaint I see about it, but that wouldn't negate the penalty.

On NFL Sirius channel they mentioned the Commanders or Bears as interesting potential landing spots for him. There were others but I can't remember. They were saying it'd be a mistake because most of the successful coaches are offensive minded and are producing. The exception would be Ryans in Houston who's doing a good job so far as a defensive minded HC. Personally he should just retire. Isn't he like mid-70s now? Please Josh Harris DO NOT bring Belichick as Ron Rivera's replacement.
Nobody likes Belichick's toxicity. The only place that'll take him is the NYG. They're the mad scientists who unleashed his demonic tree into the league. On NFL Sirius channel they mentioned the Commanders or Bears as interesting potential landing spots for him. The hoody wouldn't be a good look in San Diego.Nobody likes Belichick's toxicity. The only place that'll take him is the NYG. They're the mad scientists who unleashed his demonic tree into the league.
The fuck we need Belichick when Bieniemy is a hard-ass but gets the respect of players....and can actually draw up good schemes.
IIRC current Chargers head coach Brandon Staley is always wearing a hoodie, as do many younger NFL coaches. The hoody wouldn't be a good look in San Diego.
he might wind up in Mordor.IIRC current Chargers head coach Brandon Staley is always wearing a hoodie, as do many younger NFL coaches.
CBS Sports speculates both Washington and Tampa Bay as potential landing spots for Beli.
I'd like to se these good schemes you are referring to.The fuck we need Belichick when Bieniemy is a hard-ass but gets the respect of players....and can actually draw up good schemes.
A scheme is good if someone is made open regardless of whether the distributor can actually get it to his guy. Howell misses plays Mahomes doesn't but that doesn't mean guys are not getting open.I'd like to se these good schemes you are referring to.
So far, I am far from impressed with Bieniemy. Their offense basically looks the same as it has the entire River tenure. They still aren't scoring worth a damn.
I'd be fine if he was gone as well when Harris cleans house after the season. I'd also be fine if they kept him. In my eyes, ain't nobody a "must keep" and everyone should be on the chopping block, coaches and players included.
I have no clue what you are referring to about players being open regardless of them being hit. Their receivers are generally blanketed constantly. If your 3rd read is open when he's making his first and second reads, or someone is wide open on the other side of the field than where the play is designed to go to, that is on the scheme not Howell. He's not supposed to look at the 3rd read before the 1st and 2nd.A scheme is good if someone is made open regardless of whether the distributor can actually get it to his guy. Howell misses plays Mahomes doesn't but that doesn't mean guys are not getting open.
Screen passes are also an improvement from Scott Turner. With Turner, it's a guarantee that the screen surprises no one, indicating a tendency signaling a screen is coming. Bieniemy at surprises some teams with screens.
How do you lose 3-0 to the Vikings and follow it up with 42 in the first half?
