Why would you take the points if you think the spread is too high?9ers are -9.5 points against the Pack. If I were a betting man I'd take the points. That spread is too high IMO. The Pack are playing some great football and I think it'll be high scoring, but much closer. Although it may rain, so that'll effect the passing game. Weather is spotty though and will be off and on instead of downpour, at least as of this morning.
I'm not a bettor, but he clearly means Packers +9.5. It's cool to say the Pack have been playing well, but they could also easily lose by three TDs. There were several scores last week that nobody would have predicted. Why would you take the points if you think the spread is too high?
That is why I'm asking.I'm not a bettor, but he clearly means Packers +9.5. It's cool to say the Pack have been playing well, but they could also easily lose by three TDs. There were several scores last week that nobody would have predicted.
Go Pack, Go!
(I do expect the Packers to get destroyed, but I also had very low expectations last week.)
His intent is pretty clear: he thinks the Niners won't cover. That is why I'm asking.
He either made a mistake, doesn't know betting terminology, or both lol.
Yeah that is why I was asking. His intent is pretty clear: he thinks the Niners won't cover.
I don't bet on sports, but is it wrong if I said "I'll take the Packers and the points"?
I believe this is okay: "I'll take the Packers if you give me 9 1/2."
Anyway, I don't need to lose money to enjoy watching sports.

Past playoff matches are completely irrelevant. So like, Niners can definitely lay a turd for a game--they've shown it a few times, already. ...but they definitely have the Packers' number in the playoffs in recent years. ....but also, that could just be the Ka'aron effect, which has been extinguished.
I'm very interested in this game, because it's been ...entertaining for the last several examples, haha.
(I think the -9.5 plays into recent Packers v Niners in the playoffs, but ignores how different both teams are, especially the Packers from a coaching point on down)
I got swayed into picking Dallas because of a curse wheel by Brandon Perna. That pick was mental coping for not picking the Packers last week.Past playoff matches are completely irrelevant.
Any team can lay a turd on any day, which is why the NFL is so unpredictable. Having said that, I think the range of plausible outcomes is from a close game to a Niners rout. People are being prisoners of the moment if they imagine the Packers can make the Niners look like a Mike McCarthy/Dak team.* On paper, the Niners are the strongest team in the field and they've underachieved since blowing the 2019 Super Bowl. So like the Bills, they're hungry and out to prove their critics wrong.

In fact, I might as well skip the game. The guy who picked Mason fucking Rudolph last week just picked the Packers to win. So we already know what won't happen...
* To be clear, almost anything is possible but some things are less possible than others.
Picking NFL contests is a tough game, no doubt. Partly why I never bet, and also why I mostly don't make predictions. (I'm just as bad as the next guy if I try.)I got swayed into picking Dallas because of a curse wheel by Brandon Perna. That pick was mental coping for not picking the Packers last week.
Also, you are probably loudest doubters of Jordan Love even though he is technically very productive in generating touchdowns, second only to Dakota Prescott.
Chase Young will no show anyway because he is a one-trick pony.
It's not a choke if the 2.5th best QB(I am begrudingly giving Josh Allen a modicum of respect) in the playoffs is merely operating on schedule.Ravens
49ers *(but a choke would NOT shock me)
Bills
Lions
The fix is heavy against the Bills. Shawn Hoculi is reffing. And I'm devilishly all FOR THE LACK OF INTEGRITY.I would call the Niners getting beat by this years Packers at least a "small" choke myself sorry.
Wouldn't be nearly the worst I've seen though.... GB with Love @ QB is a pretty good team. (And without Rat-bag Rodgers I can't even hate them anymore!) It would warm my heart seeing the look on Rodgers stupid face if the Packers somehow were to win it all RIGHT AFTER emptying the trash!
As for the Bills .... "on paper" I agree with you however in my GUT this year feels different.... like Allen has more "help".
We'll see.
Lamar doesn't look rusty after the rest. 2 rushing TDs(100+ yards) and 2 passing TDs in a 31-10 game with about 6 minutes left in the game.Tell you what the Texans D is a LOT tougher than I realized! Especially the linebackers.
I didn't actually see much of them this season.... I knew they could score but wow.
I think they adjusted their routine to maintain sharpness after that last time they got booted out by the Titans.Lamar doesn't look rusty after the rest. 2 rushing TDs(100+ yards) and 2 passing TDs in a 31-10 game with about 6 minutes left in the game.
Speaking about penalties, I can't believe the Raiders were the least penalized team last year - not that it did them any good.I think they adjusted their routine to maintain sharpness after that last time they got booted out by the Titans.
Also, Houston was way unprepared mentally...so many pre-snap penalties.
Yep. I love when some fruit flops and niners get penaliized. As a Niners fan this is just sad.
I beg to differ. You got a much bigger man tossing out a shove. A fall is quite possible.Yep. I love when some fruit flops and niners get penaliized.
Yall have to stick together?I beg to differ. You got a much bigger man tossing out a shove. A fall is quite possible.
