I just don't think you all understand the gloom filled desperation that settles in like a sack of wet, cold, dark, hopeless cement between now and September. Imagine Green Bay. Now imagine it in January. With no Packers to watch. Come February, the groundhog gets hit by a snowplow and it's six more months of winter. Nothing but filthy black snow and liquor stores for miles. It's like Fayetteville with fat people and slush.

I'll be shocked if Diggs is with the Bills next year. That dude has to be super frustrated. He hardly got the ball yesterday AND was missed on a wide open route on their final drive. I was yelling at my TV to hit Diggs and he threw the incomplete pass out of the end zone, and then Romo talked about how wide open Diggs was.

No way, that fake punt was one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. Fumbling the ball at the end zone happens but someone should get fired over that call even though it didn't hurt them.
The fake punt was a choke. But after the Hardman fumble, the Chiefs went cold and Buffalo was driving down for an expected finisher to tie or win for Buffalo.

Everything was in Buffalo's favor in the final stanza, but Josh Allen doesn't think like Tom Brady. Rather than eating the short crosser, he wanted the home run hit right away.

And of course, I'm wickedly happy that the Bills falter as expected again. I think our vocal fish friend is an darkness retreat detox and mediating on the question of "whyyyyy".

Jared Goff is finally playing just as well as he stands, which is sexy.

He's been playing more elite than Purdy.

It's Goff time.

Lions win.

San Francisco in tears and shock.

Book it.

(Or go against me because I always get the NFC wrong. )

You just don't like Purdy and downplay his performances overall, so you are letting that choose your direction.

That 9er game almost gave me a heart attack this weekend. We did not show up and got lucky. At least the curse is broken on our stupid come from behind losses. 3 weeks rest is almost never good, but the Ravens had it too and got out of their funk by half. What was it, 10-10 at half or something like that? 9ers D is too much bend don't break and Love looked way too comfortable in the pocket.

On paper nobody should be picking Detroit to win. But they can run the ball, both with speed with Gibbs and just pounding the rock with Montgomery. If we don't button that up at the get go our LBs and DBs will be busy. We just can't get out of our own way with stupid penalties.

And that fake punt call was atrocious. I think they said the Chiefs only had 10 guys on the field on that play and they called that fake play? smh.

You're so qualified when you're sympathetic to mediocrities busts like Danny Dimes or Baker Mayfield. Purdy has issues with wet balls, embarrassing.

It is an objective FACT that if Deebo(San Fran's equivalent of AJ Brown) goes down, so does the San Fran offense's yards per play or whatever metric it was.

Purdy is a more complete than a Tannehill or Cousins, but he's still in their vein. No Deebo, no smexyBrock.

Goff has maintained consistency despite actual doubt and contempt harbored towards him based on his past games, a limited sampling of Rams games. He has won me over. SexyGoff is back.

Listen I know I can't call out the top talent like Mac Jones like you can, but I can give QB's a chance to prove themselves when they are in shitty situations - like Jones and Baker. And Baker Mayfield is not a bust, look at his trajectory and where and who he played for. He may flame out next year but if he continues to play and improve from this year he is a rock solid QB at that point.

Purdy was up there in the MVP talks, legitimately, until near the end of the season really. I don't think he is as mediocre as you seem to say.

His greatest hits of the past 9 days alone include:
Mason Rudolph beating the Bills
Packers thumping the Niners by 11 points

It's possible he's just trolling us, but it seems like he believes what he types in this thread...

KC has been playing like crap for 2 months...can't believe they flipped a switch yesterday and started kicking ass...they looked completely different than the team that settled for 4 field goals last week against Miami...

The number of defensive injuries the Bills had made the KC offense look way better than it is. The Ravens are going to blow them out next week.

Someone made an interesting comment elsewhere that this season could possibly end just as it had began. The first game of the season was Detroit versus Kansas City. Now there is a real chance that the last game of the season could also be Detroit vs Kansas City. Detroit won the week 1 game by a score of 21-20.

Well, I won my fantasy league... So, I am calling it 49ers vs Ravens with the Ravens beating the 49ers again. I'd rather the 49ers won but let's be realistic.

I mean I'm not saying Detroit can't win or that Purdy is Joe Montana either. He's perfectly capable of having a mediocre game but overall This season he's been a top tier quarterback. But to some of these self-professed football experts they don't give certain people any credit for anything because they are the arbiters of talent. To them it's impossible for certain players to have any real quality talent because it doesn't fit their analysis.

Opinions are like assholes...

Purdy was mediocre for almost an entire game (that TD toss to Kittle was just a solid throw, moving to his right). Then on the game winning drive, he turned into Joe Montana. IIRC Purdy's only incompletion on that drive was when Kittle dropped an easy catch because he already was looking forward to run. And because the Packers left so many damn points on the field, one clutch drive was all it took.

And I'm not even saying Purdy is near Mahomes, but there was at least one game this season where Mahaomes had a good amount of pressure on him and his numbers were terrible, including turnovers.

Overall Purdy is playing a very high level of quarterbacking this season, only continuing the trend of his previous play, not bucking the trend.

It's kind of funny to see the dooming in this thread because the Niners were super rusty after 3 weeks of rest for the starters. I have no idea if they'll live up to their potential, but ESPN's FPI model still likes their chances to win the chip:

The way I look at it is they just laid their egg, and still lived to tell about it. They may lose to the Lions, but I don't expect them to be rusty and play a poor game for 3 1/2 quarters again. We'll also have to see what Deebo's status is.

Sunday's weather forecast is about 70 degrees in Santa Clara. I don't foresee Purdy having issues throwing a wet ball in the rain, but I don't have a crystal ball like some of the guys here.

I trust Kraft over Belichick in evaluating QBs like Mac Jones. Or do you really think the guy who wanted Garappolo to replace Brady knew what he was doing

Daniel has proven himself utterly inept but he is a heart-winner, so much so even his formerly fiercest critic here thinks he could do more with a receiver. Danny has shown he's uncoachable and more indecisive than his third string backup.

He's got this thing with QBs--everyone knows Josh Allen is elite, but Torn Mind is smarter than everyone else. Everyone knows that Goff is pure shit, but Torn Mind just doesn't see it.

etc.
