You're so qualified when you're sympathetic to mediocrities busts like Danny Dimes or Baker Mayfield. Purdy has issues with wet balls, embarrassing.

It is an objective FACT that if Deebo(San Fran's equivalent of AJ Brown) goes down, so does the San Fran offense's yards per play or whatever metric it was.

Purdy is a more complete than a Tannehill or Cousins, but he's still in their vein. No Deebo, no smexyBrock.

Goff has maintained consistency despite actual doubt and contempt harbored towards him based on his past games, a limited sampling of Rams games. He has won me over. SexyGoff is back.

I know. Imagine if SF had to give more touches to Aiuk, or Kittle, or that loser CMC, right? Imagine how shitty their offense will be.

FFS, I'm not sure you watch half these games.

Granted, I don't think Purdy is super stellar, either (he's all timing because he can't manage to see over his O-Line, in the ways that Brees and Wilson seemed to figure out), but he's been absolutely solid for most of his games. Way better than Goff, of course.

Goff and that Lions O has not been shut down this season(except the Ratbirds)
Goff has been killer consistent despite me doubting he could keep it up. I'm on the Goff wagon now.

Russell Wilson misses checkdowns and avoids the middle of the field. He is no Brees.

And I'm not even saying Purdy is near Mahomes, but there was at least one game this season where Mahaomes had a good amount of pressure on him and his numbers were terrible, including turnovers.

Overall Purdy is playing a very high level of quarterbacking this season, only continuing the trend of his previous play, not bucking the trend.
By Mahomes' lofty standards, he had an off year with 14 INTs. He was visibly frustrated with the offense at times, and did his best to check himself the way his targets were dropping balls all season. There were even fools who thought the Fins would go into 0-degree KC and win the wild card game. One of my very few rules in football is to not bet against Mahomes. Chances are the magic ride ends in Baltimore on Sunday, but it should NOT surprise people if the Chiefs prevail.

In a strange way, they're in a good position. Mahomes won TWO Super Bowls with the NFL's 18th ranked defense, which is pretty much unheard of nowadays. This season, he's actually got the 5th rated defense! So if the offense puts together a good game and the defense carries them as it's done all season, I like their chances. They're a very live underdog.

As mentioned during the broadcast, Purdy just set multiple Niners team records this season. Granted the 17 game schedule makes counting stats easier, but you aren't Ryan F*ing Tannehill if you're setting team records on the 49ers. Purdy and Jordan Love are far too early into their careers to say they'll be elite QBs but what they've done in a season and change is very promising.

from 3-13 to NFC Championship game, not bad
Campbell probably is a "meathead" but he's a damn good ball coach as well.

Reminds me that I once thought George Steinbrenner was dumb for firing Buck Showalter and hiring Joe Torre...

I definitely agree with all your viewpoints, you have a rational approach to your nfl analysis

Harbaugh to the Chargers. I liked him as a 9ers coach and bummed to see him go, but despised him at Michigan. I'll be a closet Chargers fan next year. We'll see if he can crack the "Chargers' gonna Charge" code.

Instead of retiring to spend time with his family, Bill looks like he is going to Atlanta
Well, that aged poorly. 🤪

Raheem Morris hired by ATL after two Belichick interviews.

Kinda stunned, actually.

Well the point was Bill was making the choice to not spend time with his family and stick with coaching. Apparently it's Atlanta that didn't want to deal with him. He demands too much power and the NFL has changed too much in the 24 years since he ran the Patriots. It's not Bill choosing to not be the head coach according to all reports, it's Atlanta choosing otherwise.

Looks like Shula's record might stand, as Bill is 15 games shy and will Seattle or Washington hire him? Those are the only two vacancies left, unless another one opens up.

Very few teams want the HC to be the de facto GM as well; I'm pretty sure Seattle isn't one of them. Maybe Washington is desperate enough?

It'd be hilarious if Beli sits out a season, Robert Saleh gets axed, and the J-E-T-S decide to hire Bill.

Wash just hired a GM, so that would never fly if that's what Bill wants, I guess.

Kinda surprised little Harbaugh didn't work out--but also not surprised that the job is just shit and no one really wants it RN.

Still, ownership is unquestionably better and ready to work with the right people, I imagine, so the spot can't help but be better than the last...25 years no?

Obviously I don't know what Bill wants, but it seems unlikely for him to insist on full control right now with the limited openings. If he wants to win 15 games, Seattle makes sense. It's doable in 2 seasons if they upgrade the roster just a bit. It'd be hilarious to replace Pete Carroll twice, too.

As for Washington, you're right about a good ownership group. In reality, any NFL head coaching job is a plum job. Sure, sometimes you work for an asshole owner who supports Trump; but it's a very exclusive club with high compensation.

I really didn't have a horse in the race for these final 4 teams. They all have something I like about them. Would love to see Lamar win a bowl and silence a bunch of haters and doubters. Same with Purdy, just in a different way. The Lions just cause they've been out of it for so long and Eminem's team deserves a win. I always liked watching the Chiefs play and their vibe.

So really, anybody wins it's got a cool story to me. But man, if the Chiefs win it will blow the fucking minds of a ton of right wing male snowflakes who have this obsession with Taylor Swift. Carlson said today he'd kill himself if they won and validated Swift. That's all the motivation I need to root for a team.

GO CHIEFS! (though I think they are on an uphill battle this Sunday)

You outta your mind? CMC will be murderous (EDIT: well, effective at the least) Sunday.

Edit: I misinterpreted Zin's post.

I sure would like to see Juszczyk used more in the passing game.

Honestly if Deebo doesn't play, CMC should play his position and let Mitchell and Mason run the ball. CMC would still get rushing touches the way Deebo would have, but the other two run hard as well. Both of them can break off some good runs. Last I heard Deebo was limited in practice yesterday so that's a good sign, haven't had a chance today to see any reports yet. But yeah, Juice should be more involved as well.

I just hope they game plan that Deboo will be out/limited. Which is completely different when you lose a player early in the game with a week of practice and that game plan now not so on point. The one thing that pisses me off about the 9ers is if just ONE thing is off on either side of the ball instead of of being at 90%, they act like they are at 65-70%.

Alot of that falls on Shanahan. That guy panics when he's behind big time. But yea, as a team they need to step up when one of their stars goes down.

Last night they said Deebo's expected to play and that he looked fine in Thursday's practice. I figure if he doesn't get hammered in that shoulder he might be OK.

Weather's gonna be ideal, it seems. 69F at kickoff, no threat of rain, sunny, actually.
