This seemed like a weird hire to me. Defensive minded coach who I thought for sure would go to Seattle. I'm guessing he probably wasn't their first choice, but since the Lions guy backed out, maybe they settled for him. But, Commander's D was pretty bad so no doubt he can at least improve that. Hiring Kingsbury as OC is probably a good move to get their offense going too. Heard on one of the shows they should make a play for Fields if they can't get the LSU QB or Williams. That'd be interesting.Happened yesterday, but Dan Quinn to coach the Commanders.
I am fine with that hire. The fact they have adults running the show now with a real GM, I am okay with whatever decision they make at this point.
Well they have the 2nd pick so getting 1 of 2 QB's shouldn't be an issue. This seemed like a weird hire to me. Defensive minded coach who I thought for sure would go to Seattle. Dan Quinn was the third choice after the Lions' OC Johnson and the Ravens DC Mike Macdonald. The Athletic reported that the Commanders' plane was en route to Michigan to hire Johnson when his agent texted the Commanders that he was passing. This seemed like a weird hire to me. This is not true.Dan Quinn was the third choice after the Lions' OC Johnson and the Ravens DC Mike Macdonald. The Athletic reported that the Commanders' plane was en route to Michigan to hire Johnson when his agent texted the Commanders that he was passing.
Supposedly Kingsbury was headed to Las Vegas as OC, but the Raiders wouldn't offer him a 3 year deal?
This is not true.
Commanders were in route to INTERVIEW him in person. There is no news that he was their #1 choice.
Aside from that, nobody other than the Commanders themselves know who their choices and priority were. Everything else is just pure speculation and rolling with what the media wanted them to pick.
I saw something the other day about Macdonald getting an offer from Commanders but then the Seahawks gave him a better offer so he picked there. Last I saw though, there was nothing to confirm this.
Washington’s search committee endured a wild January that saw the Commanders pivot from both Ben Johnson, who decided to remain in Detroit, and Mike Macdonald, who was hired as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. Quinn remained a leading consideration throughout the deliberate process. The acclaim from the likes of the Cowboys’ All-Pro Micah Parsons and countless others suggests whether Quinn was the first, second or third choice, he might be the right one.
Well they have the 2nd pick so getting 1 of 2 QB's shouldn't be an issue.
You didn't say he was one of their top 3 - you said he was their 3rd choice after the other 2.None of this is all that speculative, including saying that Quinn was one of their top three choices:
Hope the officiating doesn't ruin it but I could see it coming down to a late PI call toward the end of the 4th quarter keeping a drive alive for a game winner.
He's on three hours before the game starts? He must be very influential.Boomer is on CBS right now, he's funny.
Thanks. Hopefully, I will.I will miss the game due to work.
Mahsmexy is gonna take the Lombardi home again, I'll bet.
Have fun watching, couch people.
