I'd be fine with this, but I really don't mind it as it is now, compared to how you only had to kick a FG to win before. I consider these grown men to be pros on both sides of the line. The Defense has just as much an important job as the offense does in this situation. Granted, by an overtime situation, the D is probably going to be way more gassed compared to the offense, so they do have something of a disadvantage. But they are actually paid $millions to do that job. From what I understand, even with the previous rules, a lot of top tier defensive players had generally argued that it diminishes their role on the team to claim that it is impossible for them to stop the team that wins the coin toss...I tend to agree with that.
