It seems pretty obvious to me that unless both offenses and both defenses see the field in OT, you can't say the better team won.

I'd be fine with this, but I really don't mind it as it is now, compared to how you only had to kick a FG to win before. I consider these grown men to be pros on both sides of the line. The Defense has just as much an important job as the offense does in this situation. Granted, by an overtime situation, the D is probably going to be way more gassed compared to the offense, so they do have something of a disadvantage. But they are actually paid $millions to do that job. From what I understand, even with the previous rules, a lot of top tier defensive players had generally argued that it diminishes their role on the team to claim that it is impossible for them to stop the team that wins the coin toss...I tend to agree with that.
It's better now than it was before, but it's still stupid. The game has evolved so much in favor of the offense that it's just dumb to not let the other team get a chance on that side of the ball. They even know this and that is why they changed it for the playoffs.

The Ravens Bengals game was nuts. Hate the conserative playcalling at the end to go for a 53 yard FG.

Kaaren Rodgers threw three picks πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ’―
That's why the Jets lost. They had me shaking at the end though. Vikings have a bye next week. Hopefully TJ Hockenson will return in time for the Vikes next game.

I guess the Browns defense is trash now too.

This year they kinda are, but Jayden has been playing well, so kudos to him. And, hey, its fine, let the bitterness that built up within you due to your choice to be a fan of a steaming pile of shit team for years and years just flow out as you finally have a shred of something to be excited about. Or, you know, you could just enjoy it instead of being a fucking asshole about it.

Oh, and you should just ask Jayden Daniels if you can suck his dick since you so clearly want to. At least it might help prevent DeShaun Watson part 2. Hopefully he doesn't turn out ot be DeShaun Watson part 2 on the field.

I didn't get to watch a lot of football yesterday because I was at a celebration of life but man, tough day to be an NFC West fan lol. I think everyone is some version of 3-2 or 2-3. Rams might be 1-4? Now we have to find a kicker and we play the seachickens at their house on a short week.

Man, Niners are going to be so mid for the foreseeable future. They have to pay Brock next year which means the supporting cast is only going to get worse. Superbowl window is firmly shut.

For sure. I don't think he's going to get the $50-$60 mil/year a lot of people are talking about, but we won't be able to afford very much after this season. I don't know what our draft capital is like for the next few years, but that's where we'll have to find the talent and get them in early for some snaps. From what I've been catching up on, we've got some sort of 10 pt curse going on where if we're up 10 pts at the half, we've lost both times lol. Our D appears to be really bad. Can't seem to get a stop on 3rd downs, not wrapping up etc.

I honestly think (HOPE) he takes below market value like Brady/Mahomes before him so they can provide a better cast around him, even though it will never be as good as it's been the past 2 years.

Has to stay healthy through the season. Looking at him play yesterday that looks iffy. He is in great shape.

Seeing what happened to Moody yesterday I have to think it would be wise for any NFL team to have a backup FG kicker and punter in uniform on game day, probably someone on special teams whose job is partly to practice FGs & punts on a consistent basis. It's not that hard a job. Takes leg strength and practice.

Giants looked pretty good. The offensive line is starting to mesh well and Danny Jones has a little time, And also still healing and getting back into a playing groove, as he has barely played any games in a year, but the offense is working. Did not have our number one receiver or running back yesterday.

If it wasn't for the coaching staff for getting to put on a healthy kicker on the roster against the browns we'd be three and two.

It's great to see the eagles struggle, looks like the commanders have found a QB. Better than the eagles or cowboys. And man the cowboys got so close to losing yesterday except Pittsburgh has a shitty offense but Prescott tried to give it away twice.

Every time Butker misses a field goal, an angel gets their wings.

I found the various idiot opinions, from sports commentators and others, that kelce was unprepared and washed up because of his celebrity relationship, to be absolutely stupid takes by most likely moronic people that most likely don't like Swift for non-musical reasons - read, politics or just general misogyny. And Kelce has been proving that exactly correct lately. Dbags.

Look at the Jordan Love and Tua (also Trevor Lawrence) contracts for comparisons. Purdy will absolutely get (at least) $50M/year AAV UNLESS he chooses the Tom Brady school of sacrifice. In a vacuum, none of those 3 dudes I just mentioned deserved a top 8 QB deal but they each had the leverage to get it. A year later, Purdy will be no different.

As I mentioned previously, it's not about a contract's headline value but the actual structure: guaranteed money and annual cap hit. Realistically, the Niners have plenty of problems RIGHT NOW to be overly concerned about salary cap trouble in 2025. Usually the first two years of a fresh QB deal are not that bad. Also the salary cap is expected to jump nearly 10% every year (at least until a recession hits), so some cap "relief" is built into the NFL economic system itself.

It's obvious John Lynch miscalculated somewhat this summer (I don't blame him), and at some point he will have to ditch one or more of these dudes: Trent Williams, Deebo, and Aiyuk.

The good news is despite a shitty start, they should still win their division. So if CMC isn't actually broken, the window has arguably not been closed shut yet.

3rd down has been the 9ers' Achilles' heel for years. Insanely frustrating to watch. Almost makes me happy that I don't get to see all their games up here in the NE.

That's was his problem. He gave the Jets a great D, but had no clue when it came to the O. Surely he must know a good OC that needed work.
They brought in Nathaniel Hackett as the OC, not because he was Saleh's choice, he wanted someone else. RODGERS put his foot down and got Hackett hired. Saleh gets fired because Rodgers and Hackett are sucking it up. Amazing.

Rodgers is a fucking diva Q-Anon level wacko. He is publicly ignoring and shoving past Saleh, he is yelling at coordinators on the sidelines, it's everyone's fault but his.

Probably what tipped ultra MAGA Woody Johnson the owner of the Jets over, is the Saleh wore a small flag of Lebanon armband on Sunday. Pissed off a bunch of local MAGA. And Qaaron runs the team more than the coach anyway.
