Look different, sure.I'm not sure that is fair. Anytime you remove a superstar from a team it's impossible to expect no change in results/performance. Sure other guys will step up but I mean, isn't that why superstars get paid the way they do?

As for the Niners, nobody expected these struggles. I never pick 'em but I was one who voted for them in this thread's poll.
Having said that, the recent history of SB losers is very bad and they set themselves up for failure this offseason. The holdouts of Aiyuk and Trent Williams seemed like normal contract stuff, but it really set the team off on the wrong foot. Then CMC wasn't right, and Aiyuk went down.
I don't know if they're done (as far as winning the division), but they probably need to win next week. They're done as far as reasonable Super Bowl expectations.
Perhaps the worst part of it all is that Brock Purdy has already seemingly earned a $250M extension, so the window snaps shut soon unless they miraculously reload on the fly.
