Kirk Cousins seemed like this kinda guy too, until he wasn't.
How so? Cousins was the first franchise QB in the salary cap era to get a fully-guaranteed contract. Then he did it again with the Vikings before they moved on this past offseason. Suddenly that decision looks MFing brilliant.
Without getting into a big debate about his career, he's been paid a ton of money for one playoff win.
But the QB contract numbers are starting to get silly. I don't mean the big numbers themselves, because that's fairly expected. The issue is when the guys resetting the market are not elite, or still very much unproven.
Just for example, I like Jordan Love but he got $55M AAV just because the Packers curb stomped the
Cowboys in the wild card round. Likewise, Trevor Lawrence and Tua also got paid this past offseason and you can question those two as well. There are only a handful of truly elite QBs in the NFL, but nowadays every up-and-comer gets paid like one too.
Besides Tom Brady in his prime, I can't name a single QB that left so much money on the table for his team to fill out the roster.
Nice seats! Haven't been to SoFi yet, I'm jelly.
Looks to me like sections 400s or 500s (nosebleed) suck?
@thestrangebrew1 It's sad but Chargers home games are always like road games LOL.
