That Bengals game was a pretty fun watch. And always good to see Sean Payton lose - mr bounty gate fucker.

Poor Joe Burrow playing with a team with a terrible D.

Yeah, that game was fun but rough. I'm hoping the Cardinals can pull this one out, but... eh...

While I loathe the Rams with the fire of a billion suns, that was a nice interception.

Josh Allen now has 5 consecutive seasons with 40+ total TDs. Brees, at 3, is the next closest in NFL history.

This is turning into a spicy Falcons/Commanders game and I like it.

Edit: Never going to be sad to see Atlanta lose, but the NFL overtime rules suck.

There is absolutely no reason there should be a discussion as to who the offensive rookie of the year is after the past 2 performances by Daniels.

The best part to me, aside from just the fight this team has and how great JD5 has been for this team and he's playing with people that aren't even top tier and he is elevating them, is that they won these past 2 games with some HORRIFIC problems as well.

Against the Eagles, they had 5 turnovers, and STILL won. JD5 threw 5 touchdowns against the Eagles who had only allowed 2 passing TDs in a game prior.

Then last night, they kept getting behind the chains with really dumb penalties. They literally gifted the other team 8 points by the offsides on the field goal which resulted in a TD, and then the holding penalty on the TD throw to Zachius that was called back which resulted in a field goal instead.

Like if they can clean these things up, they will only get that much better.

Now I am hoping they stick with the 6th seed. I also hope they go into the post season with a healthy squad so I'm curious to see how they play the Cowboys. I nearly shit myself last night when JD5 fell down awkwardly and his ankle was pinned, but then he just got right back up like it was nothing and ran for over 120 yards lol. The dude is incredible.

I know it will never happen with Lamar and Allen, but I could see an argument being made for Daniels being the MVP of the league as well.

The turn around he has done for this franchise in his rookie year is just something that I don't believe has ever been done before. I mean this team was 4-13 last year. They had never won 11 game since 1991. There are A LOT of different records that he is setting this year for the league and this franchise. If they didn't have Daniels at quarterback, this team probably has like 5 or 6 wins. He is that valuable to this franchise. In the past years we did make it into the playoffs, it was like we backdoored our way in, or got in with a losing record because the division was trash, or had to win like 7 in a row to get in, only to get bounced so quickly in the first round.

He alone has basically reinvigorated this entire fanbase as well. I have been rocking Redskins/Commanders gear the entirety of the Dan Snyder ownership, through all the bad times, had people even ask me why I do it, and it's just because it's my team. Usually by December though I'm not even putting on jerseys for games though since they are out of it. But now when I go out, you see the gear everywhere. When the name changed to Commanders, SO MANY PEOPLE in the area were skeptical about wasting money on new gear because the name sucked. But now that Daniels is there, no one cares about the dumb name. We're winning and are relevant and just fun to watch now. It's like must see football. I mean when the hell has this team been flexxed before?

From all accounts last night too the atmosphere at the game was something that has never been seen in that stadium. It hadn't been seen since they played at RFK. I haven't seen my neighbor yet who has season tickets but I look forward to talking to him about it when I do.

So yah, if you took the term "most valuable player" at face value, which I know that isn't necessarily how the award works, then there is definitely an argument to be made for Daniels as the MVP of the league.

Slow your fucking roll lol. Daniels has been one of the best QBs in the league, as a rookie. That alone is impressive as hell.

Has he been "more valuable" than Allen, Jackson or even Saquon Barkley? Heck, Joe Burrow has been fantastic but his team's record sucks. (I get that if you replaced Barkley with an above average RB, the Eagles record only dips by a win or maybe two. So it's rare for a non-QB to win the MVP.)

Obviously if you removed Allen, Jackson or Burrow for their teams (as for any stud QB), that team is fucked. No different with Daniels.
Honestly this MVP race should be a nail-biter between Allen and Jackson; they are both that good (look at Jackson's stats). But team record is the most important "stat" to the voters, so Allen is a lock.*

I will caution that last season, everyone was raving about CJ Stroud but he hit a sophomore slump this year. I'm not saying the same happens to Daniels, but year 1 has exceeded all expectations.

* Let's not forget Sam Darnold. 🤯

Does Mike McCarthy have some kind of dirt on the Jones family or something?
Despite (or because of?) infamously parting with Jimmy Johnson, Jerruh is often loathe/slow to dismiss his HCs.

Sam Darnold wow. 35 TD passes most in his career though. 4153 yards passing most in his career.

Must be nice to have some good WRs to throw the ball to.

I never said he SHOULD be the MVP, I said you could make an argument that he should be in the discussion for it because of how valuable he has been for the franchise and turned it around so quickly. And it's basically with the same exact talent that was on the team last year on offense, with the exception of Ertz. It's basically McLaurin and a bunch of journey men.

Yes I get what you are saying about the other QB's being removed and the teams are probably fucked - but did they turn the teams around as quickly their rookie year? That is where I am saying his "value" is - that he did it so quickly, on top of the record breaking season he's having, as that rookie.

And yes, it's obvious I'm a complete homer. But I can also have rational discussions about this lol.

Yah and depending how/who the Lions play tonight since the game is basically meaningless, there are some fantasy championship games that could be completely fucked lol!

Yea I think Jayden edges Bowers by a bit for ROTY honors.
Not enough people talk about Bowers. Insane numbers for a rookie tight end. Broke the receiving yards record by a rookie TE and broke the reception record by any rookie.

Rich Eisen is like the anti Stephen A Smith (and sports commenters/analysts in general). He doesn't get too caught up in hype/controversy, stays levelheaded, and is quick to admit his mistakes.
I really like listening to his takes for that reason. He is pretty level headed.

You're right, it's astounding he's done this as a rookie.

But the "value" you assign to Daniels is true for all stud QBs having a great season. He deserves some MVP votes, no doubt, but there's no strong argument to be made that he's top 3. That's okay though, you're hoping he gets there during his career. I'll concede you watch the games, so you have a much better pulse on the team than I ever could.

The Vikings were picked to be last in the NFC North*; if they win next week they're the #1 seed. Since Sam Darnold was just a journeyman QB, he should vault into the MVP top 3 if the Vikings pull that off next week. An argument could be made. And like Baker Mayfield before him, now he's gonna get a big contract.

Vikes HC Kevin O'Connell has to be a lock for CoTY (heck, I had to look up his last name LOL).

* Speaking of Daniels, remember all the draft hype over Caleb Williams? Everyone gave the Bears a draft grade of A or A+. Not Williams fault he was drafted by the Bears, but still.

Dan Quinn would like to have a word with you!

No but seriously, DQ should be in that discussion as well for what he's done, especially with how the media was talking about the choice to bring him in for the coaching job.

I mean, the Commanders were also picked to be the last or 2nd to last in the division, depending who you ask. Everyone expected Eagles and Cowboys to be above them and then Giants and Commanders at the bottom. The only unknown was Daniels but nobody thought he would do what he is doing, even his biggest fans pre-draft.

The Vikings also haven't been the stink of the NFL for the past 3 decades like the Redskins/Commanders have been though. No other team had CLOSE to as many off the field issues as we have had here which is just a huge distraction across the board. They didn't have such a shitty owner like we have had, etc.

But with Daniels, all of his success though I would say goes to a handful of people, starting with the GM down to the coach and offensive coordinator. Of course he plays a huge part though but coaching also has a lot to do with it IMO. He has the right people around him.

@purbeast0

I was pulling for your Commanders last night. My Bucs needed the help badly. I used to go to games all the time when they were in the big Sombrero back in the 90s. We sucked hard back then. Cool part is I still saw more Ws than Ls. Neon Deion and the Falcons beat us so bad I could stretch out by the 3rd Q because everyone but the visitors went home. He had a punt return for a TD. Still the fastest human I've ever seen run in person. Had to pick my jaw up off the ground.

Been to a lot of Jags games too, as the Mrs would get tickets. We were supposed to take important clients, but they never wanted to attend. So we'd bring our friends. We'd get VIP treatment in J-ville. Good times.
