Too bad for Sam darnold. He basically got in his head in the last two games that were the most important of the year and the ones with the biggest things on the line. He got in his head and psyched himself out. He got the yips.

Well it's going to cost him big time. A QB can't stand there scanning the field for 5 seconds making a decision. He will lose millions because he couldn't perform under pressure and the coach couldn't plan around that.

Yes and no. He's still going to get paid pretty good money.

If you look at the NFL, there aren't that many decent QBs that are below "franchise" QB on a mega contract. I can think of Baker Mayfield and Geno Smith. Below that, you have journeymen and then scrubs (excluding rookie deals).

Darnold earned himself a lot of money over 16 games, it doesn't just disappear because of two rough performances.

I have never been impressed with Deon Sander's coaching ability. It's a lot of pomp, and he seems average at best. So it's a perfect Cowboys coaching hire!

I turned the game off half-time when I realized they could not put in Daniel Jones because he was #3 on the depth chart. I would have loved to see him play. That was the only reason to keep watching lol

If the line holds, it's the first time in team history that the Bills are a home underdog in the playoffs. Such a massive game for Lamar Jackson. The presumptive 3-time MVP has never won two games in a single playoffs, and has a lot of demons to exorcise.

Vikings definitely sucking.

Rams have a lot of momentum.

Rams and Eagles have a lot of veteran leadership from their recent SB wins/appearances. The Eagles leadership from 2017 is aging, but they did make it to the SB in 2022.

Eagles have the defensive horses to win. Injury to Nikobe Dean is a major loss for the Eagles.

It's looking to be a great game if that's what is in the cards.

2017 is completely irrelevant. Is anyone on that roster still around???

The Rams were phenomenal on Monday. Anything is possible "any given Sunday" but I seriously doubt it'll happen again this weekend.

@manly A few players are still around from 2017. Most, such as Kelce and Cox, retired by the end of last season. But they still have a lot of players that went to the SB in 2022, though they lost.

DE - Brandon Graham is injured, but possibly can return for SB if Eagles
RT - Lane Johnson, he's a beast

They definitely gave up like mid 4th quarter when they didn't even go for it on 4th down at like midfield. That was the softest punt I've seen in the NFL.

Even if the Vikes move on to the JJ McCarthy plan, other teams are interested in Darnold. And since the NFL is often a copycat league, Darnold benefits from the rejuvenated careers of Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield.

Although it pales in comparison to the franchise QB mega deals we typically see, even Darnold's 2024 one year deal for $10M is good money. They hired him as a journeyman/backup but he became QB1 when McCarthy went down.

As for the Raiders inbred owner, I used to be friendly with a Vegas resident who casually said they should rename LAS to the Mark Davis Intl Airport. I busted out laughing, but he wasn't joking. Of course the dude is a loyal Trump voter, so there's that.

Yea I think Sam would do fine on another team after the year he's had. His last 2 games didn't do him any favors in the confidence department but he should be able to shrug it off by next season and continue to play well if he's placed in a similar system. At minimum a solid backup. I'm not too familiar with the QBs coming out of the draft this year, but if a team could hold off, fill other needs and snag him for a year or two he'd be serviceable.
