Chiefs embarrassed themselves, but I put them not even being competitive mostly on Mahomes (playing like Alex Smith - he ran directly into pressure just like Alex used to, check downs, and then 2 terrible INTs), and Reid's playcalling (they only briefly attempted to even try to run an offense like the one they did 2018-2022, and they pretty quickly scored I think 2 TDs which showed playcalling was a big part of it). But they played like that all year and despite winning, eventually were gonna run into a team that wouldn't get stymied by it, and the Eagles were playing like a top tier all time team lately, so hats off to them. Frankly, they could have beaten them worse, and I'm astonished the Chiefs defense held Saquon as well as they did (but then Hurts could've run all over them instead so it didn't really matter). Defense tried, but only so much they could do against a great offense playing like that. Not to take away from the Eagles defense which was good too, but it was probably the worst offense they faced in the playoffs this year.

I'm not getting the "dynasty over, they need a complete rebuild" talk, but then its sports media which would only be fit to wipe my ass with if you printed it on some decent toilet paper. They definitely need to address o-line (but same was true the last 3 years - remember when everyone thought the Eagles would steamroll them in 2022 Super Bowl because the Eagles pass rush and the Chiefs o-line? Or last year when it was as bad, and don't forget the Buccaneers doing similar to them in the 2020 Super Bowl, yet they were back in the AFC Championship game following year), and Kelce probably needs to retire (or he needs to spend the entire offseason on eating healthy and working out instead of partying and doing TV shows and the like; or retire, then go do that stuff, then bust your butt working out and then un-retire in time to get back on the team, get some game reps in and then be ready for playoffs?). They should have a decent enough WR group (I think the issue was more Mahome's play and Reid's playcalling) and I believe they should all be back unless Hopkins retires, and they might get Rice back (but he'll almost certainly be suspended for part of the season, plus how long he takes to get back in shape with the injury). Outside of o-line, I think they have enough talent, but even there Mahomes was partly to blame. When he runs directly into pressure, you can have a stacked o-line (see Alex Smith, who had good o lines with both 49ers and Chiefs) it won't matter and he'll get sacked killing drives. Likewise if you keep calling shit plays you're not gonna have a good offense. Maybe Mahomes was injured or trying to keep from getting injured, I don't know, but the playcalling and Mahome's play all year was like that. They would only very briefly ever even attempt to run an offense like they used to, and it usually led to them moving the chains and/or making some plays, and then they'd go back to playing mediocre.

I'd say hopefully maybe it would at least get people to STFU about the refs, like when they only called the guy for dunking the ball after they nailed Mahomes to the head and then returned the fumble. But we all know it won't.

Also fuck Butker, and also fuck Mahomes and Kelce and Reid being chickenshits in not condeming that type of shitty beliefs. Kudos to the NFL for speaking out against the anti-DEI psychos, unfortunately when they're such chickenshits about those same psychos saying more fucked up versions of the same nonsense like Butker did, well it's pretty empty, so fuck them too.

Glad Allen won MVP, he definitely deserved it. Bet he would've made the Super Bowl more competitive at least, although I think the Eagles would've handily beaten every single other team. Ravens are probably the only team with similar level of overall talent, but they can't even consistently play up to it. They're trying to out Charger the Chargers I guess.

I like Jalen Hurts too. He seems like a humble guy with a good head on his shoulders.
There's a good reason he was the SB MVP (no contest). IMO also the Eagles MVP over the last 2 years by virtue of his laudable attitude.

I'm not disagreeing with any you said about him, but he's still a life long Eagle and I can't be happy for any of them.

They also would not have been in that situation without Saquon carrying the team the entire season.

Oh definitely. The Giants ownership sucks and so does Schoen and Daboll. I can't believe they still have jobs.

I just saw that the Giants are putting up 10% of the team for sale, which is unfortunately a non-controlling stake, but it would be nice if Mara sold it all to someone with a brain. And preferrably to one of the few non-shitty billionares.

I mean I don't think anyone really "sucks" in the booth but some of them are way better than others. Tom Brady is definitely at the bottom right now. Greg Olsen is much better than he is.

Brady still fucks up a lot. He fucked up multiple times saying it was the wrong down. He kind of has charisma but it just feels forced some of the times too.

FWIW I don't really think Romo is that good either. You can just tell he thinks he knows more than everyone and comes of that way.

I've come to really like Romo. He's very...excitable about things but I enjoy that.

Bar none, the worst of all time has to be that tragic year with Jason Whitten. Holy shit was he terribad.

Respect, absolutely...

Tell me, someone tell me, why did PA slide to Trump come Nov. 6?

Young Union autoworks and factory workers that don't understand the history that their parents understand: pre-election reporting in these areas showed a real sharp divide among these voters, where their parents understand that no matter what, GOp is outright garbage for them, and they absolutely know that a GOP vote means the end of their protections and likely their jobs. Before the swap, the Unions were pretty much 100% Biden because well, no matter what, those people are also pretty racist and rather thick-headed. But the adults still know the score. Their kids pretty much swapped hard Trump because not being white and not being from Scranton (so, looks and sounds like them), their kiddos just didn't like Kamala but unlike their parents, had no real life history of what the GOP will do to them, even though Trump very loudly promised to fuck their lives real hard, again and again and again. Kamala lost something like 25-30%+ of that Union vote that was a lock for Biden. I wouldn't be surprised if the same was true in Michigan and maybe even Wisconsin, where the "Muslims for even more Genocide" movement maybe wouldn't have pushed him over the line.

Crazy how embedded these personal white grievances can be among such crowds.

Romo's stock was sky high in his first couple years commentating. He would often look at a formation pre-snap, and then tell you exactly what play the offense was running.
Oh I thought you meant the shitstain Jason Whitlock. 🤣

My favorite moment when a color commentator foretold the future was when Tim McCarver said that Mo Rivera's cut fastball to left-handed batters could result in a bloop single. So here's Luis Gonzalez's last at-bat in the 2001 World Series Game 7:

It was Rivera's only career postseason loss.

I think he could do that because he was so fresh out of the league he still knew the formations and tendencies of other teams from his days as a player. Now several years removed, not as much.

I've heard he was told by management to stop doing that. Too much feedback complaints that he was ruining the "surprise" for viewers or whatever.
