Every team that made the playoffs this season should be on the phone. I'd love to see him in Buffalo, of course.

This basically sums up how I feel about the whole Chiefs fix thing. Contains cursing:
Pat Mcafee is insufferable. That said, I don't think it is any secret that good players get beneficial calls more often than average or bad players. Good WRs are more likely to beat the defense and get held or interfered with. Star QBs who can run around in the backfield and evade defenders are more likely to be hit late than average/bad QBs that take the sack right away or throw the ball away, etc etc. This isn't game fixing though.

Yeah, I can only handle him in small doses. I'm on team LeBatard.

One other stupid thing I have noticed is that any time a team gets down by 3 scores the announcers start talking like the game is over and how could the losing team ever make it back blah blah blah. Three scores in today's NFL is really not insurmountable.

With the onside kick neutered, it's a lot more difficult.

@pete6032 is more referring to scenarios where there's a lot of game left, and elite offenses can score quickly.

One thing we know about the current NFL and NBA is that big comebacks are always possible (assuming enough time remains). I don't know which announcers are talking like a 21 point deficit is insurmountable.

You're right about the onside kick being near impossible now, but that mainly applies to end of game situations when time has almost run out. Requiring the kicking team to pre-announce an onside kick is particularly dumb, although I believe it's a player safety issue (the first guy on the receiving end is assuredly getting lit up).

That was definitely a factor they discussed!
Running backs are mostly fungible. Not to say average dudes are like Saquon Barkley or Derrick Henry; but a mid to late round draft pick can give you 70% of the production for pennies on the dollar.

Whoever drafts Boise State's Ashton Jeanty top 10 will overpay.

Saquon just proved that those elite RB's can certainly help win you a bunch of games. Without him the Eagles are not in the big game.

Wow! Josh Allen defies history by winning the MVP award while Lamar Jackson was All-Pro 1st team.

If there's ever a year for equally deserving co-MVPs, this was it. Jackson passed for 41 TDs vs 4 INTs LOL.

Also at NFL Honors:

No doubt, but how often does a RB rush for 2000 yards?

That's absurdly generous and you must know that. hell, you're probably the first Eagles fan that I've ever known or seen that would ever try to make that claim--at least not without laughing about it, lol.

Don't they fuckin brag about how their entire fanbase are such collective pieces of shit? That was like their claim to fame, kinda like Bills Mafia for eating ass and doing shit to hurt themselves, and throwing dildos on the field?

They're all insufferable. Not that sports media was ever good, but it seems particularly insufferable now, as you have the old people that grew up in the golden age of it, griping about crap or turning into worthless dipshits just posting inflammatory shit to try to get views, and then you have dumbfuck social media personalities just spouting whatever butt grade crap pops into their heads, and then you have the Brogan groupie dipshits and the guys like Mcafee that they glombed onto. And then you have random schmoes posting Zinfamous level sports takes all over social media.

That's not what they're saying. They're saying that Mahomes and the Chiefs get calls that aren't legitimate penalties. Like the idiots trying to say the hits in the Texans game weren't penalties when both were helmet to helmet hits. The one they just ignored the camera view that showed it as a clear helmet to helmet hit. Same with the people bitching about the blatant hold by the Eagles DB that setup the game winning field goal in the Super Bowl a couple of seasons back. There were assholes trying to say it wasn't an actual hold (the one dumbshit announcer griped about the penalty and was like "given the situation, can't you just not call it" but even he at least could admit it was penalty, half this board tried to claim it wasn't). They act like just the Chiefs get the benefit when there was a play earlier in that game where there were blatant penalties by multiple Eagles DBs and neither got called (and it was 3rd or maybe 4th down so Chiefs had to punt or turned the ball over), and both announcers noticed the penalties and remarked about them on that play. Of course these are the same fuckin idiots that bitched about the replacement refs saying they don't complain about the regular refs, and then went back to incessantly complaining about the regular refs immediately, because they just complain about the refs at all times.

For anyone interested, Freakonomics had a great episode on why RBs don't get paid more. Episode 620: https://freakonomics.com/podcast/why-dont-running-backs-get-paid-anymore/

Kinda common sense, market wants a show, and passing gives them that aside from the random long run gains and scores. Interesting none the less.

Those guys are full of shit (like, they straight up lie about what studies they cite actually say cause I guess they know people won't actually bother to check them, or know if its something more nuanced or complex than what they say; hell they can't seem to be bothered to even look at the studies they cite half the time, in that first book there's multiple studies that they claim support their argument that don't and they're the ones citing those studies, its baffling) and use a TON of specious reasoning constantly. There's a "If Books Could Kill" episode about their book and how terrible their analysis was. Basically all of their takes are to cite some data then make some weird (because often it doesn't even make sense to come to such large sweeping conclusions from a small amount of data that often isn't even explicitly looking at what their argument then claims) arguments that they try to portray as objective fact, while they basically dismiss (if they even acknowledge or consider them) any and all other reasons that might explain it.

I just got a banging sandwich from a great Salumeria here. Another customer walks in and asks, who are you all voting for, to the workers. They all basically respond in some way that they can't stand either team. I piped up with I wish they would both lose, and everyone agreed lol

Rootin' for the eagles a bit though. Also hoping Kendrick calls out the prezzie during his performance with some slick rhythmic jab

Mahomes has never publicly supported a political candidate.

Go Chiefs. Threepeat and make all the haters cry.
