Anyone here from Indianapolis? I may have an extra ticket to the game.

I live in Indy. If you have an extra one, let me know -- I may be able to find someone to buy it. I think I prefer to watch this one on TV.

To jump into the discussion on the Cowboys -- I really thought they were going to beat the Vikings or at least, it would be a close game. I was shocked at how the Vikings rolled over them. I really think that in the end, Wade Phillips has to go and I think Jerry Jones may be kicking himself in the butt for not going after his good friend Mike Shanahan when he had a chance. As much as people blame Romo, remember this -- the guy is a non-drafted free agent from a small school. I think he is a pretty darn good QB, all things considered.

Speaking of the Cowboys, did anyone hear the news that Cowboy retread Chan Gailey is the front runner for the head coaching job in Buffalo? I mean, WTF!?!?

Romo didn't lose that game, at all.

Rivers didn't lose that game, at all.

.....fucking kickers lost those games.

I'm not going to expound a treatise about this right now, because everyone knows this.

I must have dozed off for the part when the cowboys kicker missed 11 field goals.

With regard to no salary cap next year...

My understanding is that the final 8 playoff teams are limited in ability to acquire free agents, and the final 4 teams cannot acquire ANY f.a.'s.

I think there is a caveat that says the final 4 are allowed to acquire a FA if they lose one of there own, but the new FA has to be of equal or less value than the one that left.

I think Romo needs to go.
You are completely right.

Maybe we can get Randal Cunnungham, Quincy Cater, Anthony Wright, Ryan Leaf, Clint Stoerner, Chad Hutchinson, Vinny Testarverde, Drew Henson or Drew Bledsoe back as QB.

Oh and BTW Romo ranks 3rd all time on the quarterback passing rating, not bad for a guy who has only started for four years.

As for the Vikings game, the guy was sacked 6 times. You aren't winning a while lot of football games when you get sacked that many times in a game. Oh... and his one interception was also caused by pressure. The three fumbles... ok blame him for that.

Romo's not the reason the Cowboys lost. The offensive line is. That should be plainly obvious to anyone.

In fairness I don't think this was a defensible interception - it wasn't deflected off a receiver's hands or anything. He just failed to pick up Leber coming across and threw it directly to him. IMO this was a team failure by the entire Cowboys squad, and there was no aspect of the game in which the Vikings didn't dominate. It probably would have been less one-sided if Flozell Adams hadn't been knocked out of the game, but I doubt it would have changed the outcome. I am a native Minnesotan and loved every minute of it, particularly given all the pre-game hype the Cowboys garnered.

It's not just the Vikings game though. It's any game where things get tough. He just folds under pressure. I like the guy, but he's not championship material.

As for the QB's listed above, why? Are any of them likely to lead a team to the SB? A couple might have in their best days, but it's a strawman to put up examples of OTHER mediocre QB's to defend another mediocre QB.

The QB rating doesn't matter much if you can't take the lead during difficult times. 3rd all time? I don't think anyone would rightfully say Romo is the 3rd best QB of all time, not when you have :

Montana
Staubach
Favre
Young
Elway
Bradshaw
Brady (yes, better than Romo for sure)
Manning (Peyton)
Marino
Aikman
Unitas
Tarkenton
etc.

The problem is that finding a truly great QB is pretty damned difficult.
