If you can look at that catch and say he didn't do everything that is necessary for it to be ruled a touchdown prior to when he let go of the ball you're just an idiot. He catches the ball and gets two feet down, then falls to the ground, all while clearly having control of the ball. That alone would constitute a touchdown.

Calvin caught the ball with two hands then continued to hold the ball with one hand and hit the ground on his ass cheek as he did he thought the deal was done and rolled to lessen the impact and to get up to celebrate. He used the one hand still holding the ball to push himself off from the ground after he rolled and that was when the ball came loose. It was done all in one fluid motion. It was a catch.

I have it paused right on the hit, and his hand is on the back of his head. You can even clearly tell where the hit is just by seeing cutler's head snap forward. This is not how a tackle is made. He didn't push him down, he hit, and part of that hit was on the head. He made a bad decision and got fined for it. Maybe next time he'll do what he was trained to do instead of expressing his aggression in an unhealthy manner.
What he is trained to do is hit a runner to the ground as hard and as fast as he can. Doing less so might result in the runner getting more yardage.

Even if it was (and if it was, it was only just barely so, it's not like he shoved him directly in the back of the helmet), there is no rule that says you can't push a runner down from behind by the helmet, as far as I can tell. That's not a "strike" to the helmet.

If anything, the slight head snap was caused by Cutler's shoulders moving forward while his head wasn't.

And do we really need to go back to the Megatron catch. Everyone in their right mind knows that based on common sense the man caught that ball. Every other football league in the world would rule that a catch. The NFL having a poorly worded rule and the referee's interpreting it poorly is no excuse.

this a huge problem

what happened to being to taught to wrap up the runner. they need to get back to that instead of just hitting eveyone tryng to blow them up

Well they are taught to wrap them up, especially when they meet them head on. Hit with your shoulder to their center of gravity, drive up and back all the while wrapping them up with your arms and drive them into the ground as hard as you can. You minimize any yardage gain, ensure your opponent won't escape, and increase the chance for a fumble.

However, on that play Suh was coming up from behind from at an angle from the center of the field and more toward the sidelines. Cutler was going up field more so. Suh was only going to be in the area of Cutler for a slit second, his job is to get him to the ground as fast as he can with his one chance. By trying to wrap him up he would have had to do it by grasping likely at arms length and Cutler would have gotten another yard or two or completely evaded the tackle. By all football standards of any era he made the proper football play.

If we are going to call 15 yard PFs on every tackle of a ball carrier where someone's hand pushes on the ball carrier's helmet it is going to remake the game.
