They open the season against New England.
Good luck rookie qb.

Rookie QB or deer-in-the-headlights-Kolb?

I'd rather put my money on the rookie. Either way, I'm not expecting a playoff run at all this year, so it doesn't really matter much to me.

They already have game film on Kolb. He's a goner.

Of course, at least when you play New England you know your QB isn't going to get his uniform dirty from sacks.

I agree about the receiver situation.

Ray Lewis's loss is going to be overhyped. IMO his cap hit did more harm than good to the team by this point and plenty of players thought his histrionics were more comical than inspirational. Granted you can't lose two future hall of famers at once without some impact but the other improvements to the defense should more than cancel that out. I'll throw a caveat in that if Terrell Suggs and Lardarius Webb don't manage to bounce back from last year's injuries things will be a lot iffier.

Agree, a healthy Suggs is a QB's nightmare. I really felt that the team last year wanted Ray to go out with a ring, sucked for us, (Pat's) that Aqib Talib could not play in the second half of last years AFC championship game, Flacco and whoever calls the plays immediately took advantage of that situation, while AT is not a true "shutdown" corner he presence helped an overall weak secondary.

I really, really, really hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this being a great season for the Bears.

I'm not sure Trestman is sold on Cutler as his QB going forward, and he's such a weirdo anyway that it's hard to say which direction he wants to go with this team. Right now he's overloading the players with new plays on the offensive side of the ball, maybe to see which of the current ones are intellectual enough to digest his system.

Cutler probably should just sign with the Raiders next season anyway. He's a prototypical Raider's QB.

The old D is a year older, and is trying to learn new schemes as well. From what I heard Trestman begged Rod Marinelli to stay but couldn't convince him to.

I hope I'm wrong about all of this, but maybe it's time for a complete rebuild.

You simply cannot predict the NFL season this early. Usually by week 4-5 you can make an educated guess on how teams are doing. Injuries, draft picks, trades, and free agency picks and players aging a make the whole thing a wash. What's worse is the coaching picture and how so few teams can maintain their coaching staff. You end up with everyone running the Tampa 2 or the wildcat or flexbone or pistol......just to showcase an expendable draft they picked up.

I think the Pats are going to still be a force, Broncos a threat, Texans a threat...Titans (my team) will struggle in passing over 8 yards...offense shored up, defense will struggle with identity. Rushing will be top 15.

49ers still doing OK, Falcons, Redskins, and Seahawks will all be teams to watch.

I think one of the big suprises will be the Patriots becoming a 50/50 running team. They have been loading up on good running backs and the offensive line is doing a very good job run blocking.

They will look like the Pats of 10 years ago when they threw for 200 yards a game and controlled the ball. That will help keep the D off the field.

Post up your thread! This poor excuse for a ”prediction” thread doesn't do ATOT football justice.

Soon enough. Usually the last week of the preseason or so. I bought a house this year I'm busy damnit!

lol, Bills ain't making the playoffs and neither are the Steelers.

Colts will get a wildcard spot, Ravens will somehow make it in again. Last time in will either be the Titans or (as much as it pains me to say it) the Dolphins on the AFC side of things.

I don't think the Saints make it in on the NFC side, but who does is anybody's guess. Probably Redskins.

Team with biggest improvement - Kansas City Chiefs LOL but that makes them prime for it right

Team on downhill slope - Philadelphia Eagles def a possibility

Offensive ROY - E. J. Manuel - Buffalo Bills maybe his camp reports are great

Defensive ROY - Tyrann Mathieu - Arizona Cardinals if he can pass the drug tests!!!

Comeback player of the year - Brian Orakpo - Washington Redskins agree

Head coach of the New York Jets Rex Ryan will be firedgod lets hope so.

I want to hope for great things for the Bears

but geez

the O line isnt looking great, and Jwebb is still on the team somehow

LB worries me, not sure briggs can handle taking over for Urlacher. Williams is hurt. Bostik and Anderson look OK

the DL went from the deepest in the NFL, to damn shallow. Letting Idonije go to the lions for under a mil. Melton has a concussion already. Atleast they are resting Peppers all preseason, hes old enough that just like 54 hes a time bomb that the bears didnt want to resign last year

Colts go backwards and miss the playoffs.
S.F. struggles as the league has had time to figure out Kaepernick.

It is going to be a parity season. Maybe no team gets to 12 wins.
