Peyton Manning had a very slow first 6 games last year before coming back to form due to a slight knee injury. Tom Brady had a more horrific knee injury than Manning did and missed an entire season to boot. In fact, someone at patsfans.com showed that both QB's had similar numbers for the 1st 5 weeks after coming off an injured knee. It'll be interesting to see if the outburst against the Titans was a blip or Tom is finally back. Although it was against the Titans, to put up those numbers in a snowy storm is pretty impressive.

Actually, no. 2004 was statistically his best season ever and he's on pace for the third highest interception total of his career.

I would still take Peyton Manning over any other QB in the league right now, I just think that (after having watched him play a couple of games) he doesn't seem as crisp or have the swagger that he's had in years past. His numbers will tail off as the season progresses. Stats are often inflated early in the season. Elvis Dumervil is on pace for 32 sacks. Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson are on track to getting 2000+ yards. Hines Ward should also come close. Matt Schaub just might get to 5000 passing yards. You can't pass judgement on ANYONE five or six games into the season, especially based on stats that can be inflated or deflated so easily by one good or bad game.

Actually, looking at Indy's schedule, the only worth opponents are the Pats, Ravens (debateable), and Broncos... talk about a cream puff schedule :Q
