NFL Red Zone Channel

Spoke with Comcast and the rep said they are working on getting HD going. Not sure what that means.

I love the channel, but not having it in HD on Comcast does suck. I'm sure once they finish their analog to digital migration next year, it'll be ready for the next football season.

It's in HD on Verizon FIOS. They had a free preview yesterday from 1-4 PM. I thought it was pretty cool but I won't spend money for it.

I have it on Comcast and I always assumed the reason it wasn't in HD was because my cable box doesn't output HD. If I tune it to a local broadcast channel, those are in SD as well, but if I disconnect the cable box and plug the TV directly into the wall, then I get HD. Of course, I only get a small range of channels that way.

I do love it though, even in SD. But I don't want to pay extra for something I should get by default. Charging extra per month just to get HD when you're already spending a lot is BS. I'm just glad they offered NFL + RedZone separate from their typical $60/mo package (which I have less than zero interest in), so I only have to pay $26/mo for basic + NFL.

I got it on Dish Network week 1. It's pretty awesome to watch when your favorite team isn't on.

I think they should offer something like the Sunday Ticket, but instead of getting all the games, you can just get the team(s) you want.

:thumbsup: Sometimes the NFL is seemingly ignorant of how many people would actually pay good money per season to watch the games from just one team.

I think they could make a killing charging between $100 - $150 per season.

Wow dude. You need to learn how to negotiate with Comcast a bit better if you're not getting HD channels through your box.

Just call them and threaten to leave because you found a much better deal with Dish/DirecTV that includes all the HD channels, and like magic, they'll offer you a far better deal than what you're currently paying.

I'm sure in certain markets it might be in HD. I'll double check when I get home, but I'm pretty sure it's not in HD in my market yet.
