I wanted Stafford to go to the niners so bad.
Understandable.... he might have put them over the top.

Brady could have too. Boy "genius" Shanahan thought he didn't need it.Understandable.... he might have put them over the top.
They got caught on the Jimmy G hype-train, he's just barely above average and not by much.Brady could have too. Boy "genius" Shanahan thought he didn't need it.
Daddy Shanarat got the same ego though. He thought he could make something out of Rex Grossman and John Beck. They got caught on the Jimmy G hype-train, he's just barely above average and not by much.

There are most certainly teams out there doing diligence on Henry Ruggs right now because he's a talented player. Things such as how long he will be in jail, the PR consequence of signing him, how much it would take to sign him etc.
Its the world we live in.
He's gonna do some time. 156 mph and double Nevada's BAC is going to make it tough to get a light sentence.
I would hope that a coach can have an easier time seeing a Rex quarterbackus interceptus and a noodle arm from far away.To be fair Sexy Rexy ALSO got to a Super Bowl its not like he was a total failure as a QB (just a letdown) however both he and Jimmy G got there mainly because of their teams not anything special they did.
Ruggs will get 5 years at most. Why pay to jail him when he can pay the state through probation. The state-level legal system has been about laxness for decades(different matter if the feds are involved).I certainly hope so... 20 years minimum.... a 23 year old girl burned to death (could have been any one of our daughters!) directly due to Ruggs actions! He could have BOUGHT himself a brand-new limo to drive him the fvck home but not Mr Cool... screw him!
He sentenced that poor girl to a horrible death just so he could go fast in his toy sports car. "Intent" does matter but not very much in this case.... the only "mercy" I think he rates is no death-penalty since he didn't intend to kill her. (he just didn't give a crap if it happened)
I'm feeling exactly zero sympathy for that irresponsible piece of garbage.

"Carried to" would be proper verb. Chicago's faces have changed, but their situation hasn't changed in decades. No QB, good-to-great D, and some great specials teams play.

Umm, you always play up the "money angle." From ESPN:I would hope that a coach can have an easier time seeing a Rex quarterbackus interceptus and a noodle arm from far away.

Probation is not an option in Nevada for a conviction on a charge of DUI causing death or DUI causing substantial bodily injury. Both carry a possible sentence of two to 20 years in state prison. Added to a possible one to six years for reckless driving, Bauman told Bonaventure that Ruggs could face up to 46 years behind bars if convicted.
it's mind-boggling that you can get up to 156 mph on a surface street!
I get all that, but you need a heck of a runway to get up to 156 mph. With that quarter-mile time and speed, he probably had to be flooring the gas pedal from stop for say--15 seconds? Not sure what year that Vette he was driving was but it looked recent and they're shockingly fast.... crazy thing is there production cars that are even faster plus don't handle nearly as well.
Just for example ... a "plain vanilla" 2020 Corvette:
Horsepower: 490 to 495 hp
Motor: 6.2 L V8
Curb weight: 3,535 to 3,637 lbs
Torque: 470 lb-ft
0-60 mph acceleration of 2.8 seconds, and an 11.1-second, 123.2-mph quarter mile.
He'll opt for a plea bargain, and if this is his fist offense, the actual term will not even be close to the maximum. Short of Ruggs' lawyer being the worst communicator on the planet, it is unlikely the maximum sentence will be hammered on to him since a rational mind would take the plea bargain 99/100 if the evidence is as clear-cut as the reports seem to indicate. Plea bargains are always implemented with what the public sees as a slap on the wrist, but that is the 'reward" the states attorneys give to people who save their time in preparing for a case and dragging members of the public to a jury trial for such major cases.I doubt any team is doing due diligence on Ruggs right now. Even in the dead of night, it's mind-boggling that you can get up to 156 mph on a surface street!
Umm, you always play up the "money angle." From ESPN:
If convicted of the DUI vehicular manslaughter charge, his NFL career is over.

If the reported facts of the case are accurate, I don't see much room for leniency in sentencing.
Even worse is the NFL has had a contract with Uber since 2013 in that any player can call and ride anywhere 100% free to avoid driving while impaired. I hope he gets the book for this crap.I certainly hope so... 20 years minimum.... a 23 year old girl burned to death (could have been any one of our daughters!) directly due to Ruggs actions! Nobody said anything about a maximum sentence; I quoted ESPN mainly because they said probation is not an option in Nevada when you immediately said the state would give him probation and he'll be out in 5 years. He'll opt for a plea bargain, and if this is his fist offense, the actual term will not even be close to the maximum. The people who get the slammer hard are those who think they could sway a jury via trial. In such a matter, their ass is the state's to slap, and it's much, much harder.
One of the unheralded results of the civil rights movement in the legal system is the development of the non-incarcerable offense...one of the ways to stymie someone who might start an "appeal chain" similar to the say Dr. King's case landed in the Supreme Court. Likewise, light enforcement of crimes with jail time gives the state similar advantages to deny attempts at appeal.
Loldell and The Baker was obviously a bad match from the start. Baker did better when OBJ wasn't on the field.
Baker is also pathetic that he couldn't hit OBJ when OBJ was open while OBJ dropped the ball when balls did come his way.
