And a lawsuit.
Indeed. But it doesn't look like much at least for the Giants. It seems that Flores was Mara's first choice but Schoen clearly liked a guy he already worked with. With Mara wanting Flores I don't think the Giants can be said they didn't consider him seriously.

Now it's looking pretty bad for the dolphins, it seems they wanted him to tank games. That should be more interesting

The NFL does have an issue with minority coaches in the NFL. They just aren't represented enough when you look at how many players are African American.

Bill Belichick probably had a tour of revenge. His apparent mistake seems to hit parties he takes issue with.

Broncos - clearly making a play for Aaron Rodgers and thus a threat to his playoff prospects. Also fucked over playoffs runs in the past; there's plenty of salt with the horses in Colorado.
Miami - a pain in the ass in the division
Giants - Two Super Bowls lost to them
Tom Brady - Differences exist.
The impact on Brady is indirect, as this totally drowns Brady's retirement out of the news cycle.

I can envision the following call with Mara and Bill Belichick:

MAra: Bill, we need to talk
Bill: What's wrong?
Mara: Your FUCKING TEXT MESSAGE
Bill: What, it was just an accident.
Mara: Don't give me that accident bullshit. You control communication as obsessively as you gameplan for offenses. YOU DON'T MAKE THESE KIND OF MISTAKES
Bill: Why you so mad?
Mara: WAS JUDGE SENT TO FUCK US?
Bill: Sorry, you might think that, but I couldn't possibly comment
Mara: Mother---- I thought we had a relationship....WE INCUBATE YOU IN OUR TEST TUBES

Kyler scrubs all social media related to the Cardinals.

Tom Grossi made a video and dropped a hint at the very end of his fan summary for the Cardinals.

Regarding the Brian Flores lawsuit, the full text is available at Wigder law.

It seems the meat of this lawsuit is indeed against the Giants.

24. Defendants’ conduct has violated Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866
(“Section 1981”), the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, (“NJLAD”), the New York State
Human Rights Law, N.Y. Exec. Law §§ 290 et seq. (“NYSHRL”) and the New York City
Human Rights Law, N.Y.C. Admin. Code §§ 8-101 et seq. (“NYCHRL”).

The generic claim Section 1981 was violated will probably go nowhere as the Supreme Court recently ruled that the "but for" standard must apply. The Giants' defense is probably the same as I cooked up. Daniel Jones has been a struggling QB with a particular skillset. He is mobile but has yet to develop in the passing game. Brian Daboll, has coached Josh Allen up with tremendous progress year-to-year from shaky beginnings to a high-level QB who played against the Kansas City Chiefs to a tight finish, throwing for 4 TDs to a fourth string receiver.
The Broncos probably have their notes.
The Dolphins hired Flores, so that clears them.

So, aside from bad PR, the Broncos and Dolphins are in the legal clear. The allegations against them are more for manipulating the commoner via the press than any substantial legal argument.

Since the NY/NJ law violation would only apply to teams in NY/NJ, it's clear which team is being targeted. The federal court may dismiss the case entirely for failing to meet the "but-for" standard need for section 1981 cases to go through and lacking jurisdiction over the misconduct of a single franchise in the Giants.

However, this whole thing seems just a little suspect...
Mara is one of the godfathers of the NFL. Crossing him is a death's wish. They're tight with the Rooney's too, who have been hailed as progressive for the Rooney Rule. Why the hell were they were loose-tongued with Bill Belichick. And how the hell tightwad Belichick sent a text to the "wrong" Brian. If one of his players sent a text to the wrong "Adam" or "Ian", you can bet he'd cut that player's ass on the spot.

The speed at which this lawsuit got filed is also something else. Flores got his text at 5:42pm on a Monday, Jan 24. So, it would be the 25th in which he'd have to go hunting for not one, but two prominent lawyers in NYC. The law firms do not seem particularly large, and the dates they were retained are unknown. In under a week, they were able to hammer out a 58 page legal suit.

This suit sure could be just a ploy by the Giants, Belichick, and Flores to simply make news to drown out the Washington scandal.

Bad move by Murray IMO. He's just showing every team out there how childish he is. Dude completely crashed and burned the last quarter of the season into the playoffs, then had arguably one of the worst games for a QB in the history of the NFL, and then acts like a child. Bad look.

Yea it's odd, they have good pieces on offense and had one of the best defenses for awhile as well. I don't know how good his O-line ins, but no team is solid across the board for every position. Also doesn't he have 2 years left on his rookie contract anyways?

Seems like a teenage move to BRO I'M UNFOLLOWING YOU to do.

I remember when he was 100% going to play baseball and was drafted by the Oakland A's. Maybe he is going to quit football

love to see it more than a few qb needy teams out there that will happily pay a lot for his rights

They really missed Hopkins, Lions(!!) beat them quite handily

Maybe the Cards would prefer Danny Dimes under center ?!?

Finding a competent NFL starting QB ain't easy!

I wouldn’t mind Kyler on the Giants. He’s not elite but he has elite moments.

Enough to seduce a GM into a hand-tied contract when he crashes and burns.

The Giants did nothing wrong. Flores' claim is that they did not consider him seriously, but yet says Mara called him to say he was his #1 choice. Which is probably true, Mara is a wanna be GM. But I mean those two things contradict each other. Clearly the Giants were taking him seriously if the owner himself stated a preference for him.

As a Giants fan we have been so pissed at Mara putting his fingers in everything since his father passed and we were pissed when we heard he was doing it again. When we saw Mara say he was actually going to do it differently and let Schoen have control, we all heaved a sigh of relief. Schoen went with Daboll. The reasons are pretty obvious.

In recent years, there's been a precedent for the very best young QBs to get their extension after 3 years of starting. Most teams understand that the price only goes up the longer you wait, and that is especially true when new TV money floods in starting in 2023.

Exactly, there's no hit to his perceived value. Almost no NFL teams ever draft and develop a competent starter only to let him walk. Besides Kirk Cousins who was franchised twice before WFT said no thanks, I can't think of another good example.

Kyler Murray knows he has tons of leverage and similarly, Lamar Jackson is gonna get paid this offseason. The only questions are how much, and whether Jackson will live up to the contract after a mediocre 2021 campaign.
