Based on the first two weeks, who are some sleepers to pick up?

I was thinking Rex Grossman
and the San Diego Defense

Don't be fooled. Grossman was playing against the Lions and the San Diego D was playing against the Raiders. San Diego's defense didn't rack up many points in Week 2.

"I was thinking Rex Grossman "

Muhahaha...I never thought I'd hear the day when Grossman was a good fantasy player. GO BEARS!

"Grossman was playing against the Lions"

Who competely shut down the seahawks.

Marquis Colston - NO (WR/TE)

Has a TD in both games so far. Good for 4-5 catches and average yards. He outscored Joe Horn both weeks.

Jenkins = no go
Maroney = no go ( I had him targetted last week, but was beat to the punch)

12 team leauges are tough..the FA market is limited..

oh well.. I'm 2-0 in both of my leauges (and I don't even need tonight's game)
so, I must be doing something right

Grossman would be a great acquisition to fill in for your starter's bye week, injury or favorable matchup. But I wouldn't acquire him with the notion of being a starter every week. Helluva game yesterday but he's not gonna do that consistently.

Chargers defense, if even still available, is a solid starting unit with nice matchups. I'd definitely pick them up if you can.

I'd be surprised if Maroney was available in any fantasy leagues. There was a good bit of hype surrounding him prior to the season starting so I don't think he went undrafted in the majority of leagues. He's gonna be a great "keeper" option for those that have him. I think he'll be an absolute stud in upcoming season but is already making a case for that this year.

Thats kind of my strategy.. somewhat.. basically a bye filler..
but, if I sense a player is having a good year, I like to grab them, and basically keep them on my bench, so nobody else in the league can use them.. I mean.. 10 points here.. and 10 points there makes a difference..

Just picked up Toomer in both of my leagues.. Hopefully yesterday's game wasn't a fluke, and he'll give Manning a nice target for the remainder of the season.

I've been high on him for a few weeks, but Antonio Bryant has been very impressive (on paper anyway) the last two weeks. He's put up better fantansy numbers than most 1st and 2nd round receivers and was largely undrafted by most people.

It may be a matter of time before he goes out supernova style because he's a royal ass and attention whore. Until then I'll *gladly* take him as a 3rd slot receiver behind Harrison & Coles.

Another guy to pick up would be DeAngelo Williams for Carolina. Not a *ton* of hype, but he's been very solid. He may be taken already in many leagues.

a third option that hasn't payed out yet, but I think has a good chance at busting out is Brandon Jacobs of the Giants. I think he stands the best chance of being this years Larry Johnson story. If the Tiki Barber owners didn't handcuff, get him now.

Chris Henry may be another good option if Whoozyermamma is still injured and/or Chad Johnson is out for a game.

Get Gould if you don't have a good kicker. He is going to put up consistently high numbers all year imho.

Colston is valuable because some leagues list him as WR/TE which makes him a valuable bench player that can fill two roles, but he is definitely a WR.

Jericho Cotchery, Jets
Buffalo D
Desmond Clark, Bears

DeAngelo Williams = Got him the first week.. He was my targetted sleeper pick right off from the start of the season. I remember his college days.. I said it in pre-season; DeAngelo Williams will be the starter before mid-season.

Brandon Jacobs = Got him this year too.. had him last year also.. Gets alot of goal line touches, so should be good for 6-8 touchdowns this year..

Any other suggestions for RBs, DeAngelo's picked up already

If you are really digging deep, Marion Barber isn't a terrible option. He shares carries with Jones but sees more goal line looks. Jones is also an injury concern so Barber has a good chance of getting even more looks.

Yep.. He had a touchdown lastnight.. goal line situation.. took him a couple of tries, but he punched it in..

I think Julius Jones is overrated myself....

Oh, one other thing, pick any DEF up that is playing the Titans that week. You might even want to pick up scrub QBs that are playing the Titans. We suck.

After Mr Branch was traded to Seattle from the Patriots, it rendered my 2nd WR Nate Burleson all but useless. Found that Antonio Bryant was still available and picked him up Sat PM. He got me 17 points this weekend, he may not play for a very good team...but the guy will get his touches every game and should put up decent numbers week to week. He outscored my 1 WR (Chris Chambers) who has now been made all but useless thanks to Mr Culpeppers play.

picked up Colston and Cotchery before this week and both came through big!

Cotchery (Jets WR) fits the mold of the 3rd year breakout receiver

I read an article about Colston. Brees loves the guy and obviously the first two weeks are good signs.

I've run into problems my 1st 2 weeks. L. Jordan and Portis aren't bringin it in, Hasselbeck isn't producing, and my WR's are just avg. And on top of that whichever D or K I put in the game gets the lowest... I just have bad luck. Need some sleepers or some type of gameplan to come out on top. This is for a $600 prize.
