I have the Chaintech VNF4 Ultra, and the manual says that I will need to hit F6 during the Windows XP setup to load drivers for the nForce 4 Serial ATA chipset if I will be installing to a Serial ATA drive.
I'm not sure.. I believe that the nForce 3/4 chipsets has native support fo SATA drives, but not RAID. You *will* need to use F6 RAID drivers, but I don't know about SATA.
As mentioned, Windows should install ok with a SATA drive if you are not installing on RAID. However, I would still install the nVidia nForce chipset drivers for the SATA controller after windows installs since they offer better performance than the default windows ones.
