The part with the fins was bent back towards the heatsink so that they were over top of it. I sent an email to Frozen CPU and they said to bend it slowly back until it was straight which I did and it looks ok. I'm waiting for a knew vid card to arrive before I install it.

Wow, that does not sound good. Heck, given their packaging, it barely sounds possible. It probably isn't worth RMAing something priced this low, but it really should not be bent like that. Someone slipped up on quality control somewhere.

I bent it nice and easy and it looks like the one in the Big Bruin review so I will keep it. Not worth the hassel to RMA.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm having similar problems for my NForce4.
Every so often, I check around to find out if any clever company has gotten around to selling retail one of these passive- heatpipe- low- profile doodads but no one ever does...guess they dont like money?
So, I broke down and got a Vantec Iceberq- haven't gotten it yet, but now I'm hearing that the fan only stays quiet for a coupla months. Anyone experience this?
Either way, good luck 996GT2!

I have a DFI Lan Party Ultra-D. What temp should the chipset be at? I don't plan to overclock. Recently, I turned off the chipset fan because it's loud as hell, and my temp is around 60-63 degrees celsius.

No, because each one would have to be a customized for a particular motherboard. There would be no interchangeability between mobos. As for the fan, never owned one to tell you.

As to the OP, Why not an HR-05-SLI ? It should stay far enough away from your card and will provide excellent cooling. For even more power, strap on a thin 80mm fan like the Delta 80x15mm low speed fan.

I emailed TR about the HR05 SLi, they replied back saying it will not fit my MSI K9N Plat
